Launcher problem

Hi all,
Hoping someone here may shed some light on what I'm doing wrong. I've followed download instructions and I have everything I need in order to play, but I just can't launch the game. I think I'm setting the destination path wrongly. I've set it to the original DAoC launcher and when I hit 'install' I'm sent back to my account page. I hit play again and the set up wizard starts again. From what I've read, its meant to be set to the DaoC.exe file but not sure anymore since it doesn't work for me. I've tried various destination folders with no luck. It's got to be something simple. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks **EDIT I've totally uninstalled everything and re-installed just in case I had buggered up the install the first time around. 1. New official Daoc Client (patched) 2. I have ensured I have the correct version of Net Framework and Microsoft Redistributable (86) 3. Downloaded Launcher 4. Ran launcher and set installation path to camelot.exe (the full path though, C:/Program Files etc..) After this it goes tits up. Pressing play or starting launcher from desktop results in Daoc asking for install path again. I set it again and it just repeats ad nauseum. I wondered if I hadn't recieved a reply yet because the solution is blindingly obvious and people thought I was trolling.. I'm not. In case it matters, I'm running this on Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1. As before, any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

Wow. No one?
I was looking forward to this but can't afford to spend any more time trying to get in. Best of luck with it though, good to know you guys are ready to dive in when a bit of support is needed. Bye ![]() |

Would really like to help you but from your description its hard to figure out what problem you have. I suggest to install DAoC on a drive which is not C if you have that. If it can't be solved in this way I guess we will have to have a teamviewer session to find out whats wrong.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
Every bug gets fixed. Sooner or later. Sounds like an access problem, like Blue suggested. Instead of a different drive, you could also try your user folder (C:\Users\your_user). Windows can be quite restrictive regarding the program folder.

Try showing your full directory, perhaps you have gone wrong somewhere? For example, mine is C:\Games\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot - This is a separate install directory from other versions of DAoC that I have on my PC. This is the directory that is shown in my Launcher settings. When I click "Change" next to the game directory I then choose the camelot.exe file.
Hope this helps. My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

Shouldn't make any difference. I use google chrome and windows 10 just fine. If you follow the steps perfectly it should work. There must be a problem with either the directory that you have entered or the camelot.exe not existing.
Im no expert in this field, but the previous answers and FAQ should be enough help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

Hello all,
Firstly, thanks for all the replies. I had kind of given up hope on ever playing this server but thought I'd pop back to let you know that I found out what the problem/solution was. I had been trying for over 5 hours today to get it to work with no luck, and it was gonna be the last time.. BUT... My son suggested I try a different browser in case it was that which was causing the launcher to re install itself. And it was exactly that. I was using Mozilla Firefox but when I tried IE, it worked perfectly, first time. I hope this post helps others that may be experiencing the same problem. And again, thanks for the helpful suggestions. ![]() |
