Ill start off by saying I played DAOC back in the day and played a theurg. It was awesome and I loved ever minute of it. I was a teen at the time and want to get more serious about the game this time around.

Ok so I am currently leaning toward making a Cleric for live. I have a lot of questions and need some help if anyone is willing to lend a hand.

First what race and starting stat distribution should I go with?

Second, I plan on grouping when possible but I will probably be soloing alot also due to time constraints and job so is smite enough dps to actually matter and make it possible to solo as a Cleric. I know I wont be a wizard or anything but Im looking to be able to solo somewhat while still being viable in group settings.

Finally, Im also looking for a group of people who are interested in a social group that will enjoy all aspects of the game together. I am east coast NA but playing times can be adjusted somewhat to fit a good group. Any guilds that are looking for members please let me know.

These are my opinions:

1. Race = Briton
2. Starting stats 15 dex, 10 piety or 10 dex, 10 piety, 10 con
3. I would discourage you from trying to solo on your Cleric because:
-You will be able to get groups really easily as a Cleric.
-You'd have to invest a decent amount into Smite which is worthless at the end game.
-Without power regen or other power type support it will be pretty slow.

While leveling I would spec something like
Enhancement = Your level - 2
Rejuv = the rest

End game spec is usually something like 40 Enhance 36 Rejuv (maybe 35 Rejuv for a tiny bit more Smite for random stealther popping or interrupts).

Only thing you CAN do different: spec smite plus a bit enh for the first spec buffs and better base buffs till level 20 and then line respec for free to 14 enh 14 rej and find a group to level further.
The reason is that you can level very efficently on your own with killtasks till level 20.
