Hello guys,
I heared it before and now im a victim myself! Anyone else had the problem that DAoC would lag after you bought a new PC and maybe even managed to fix it? If so, would u mind sharing your experience? Cheers |

Lag = fps drops in that case ?

please be more vague with the issue.
check ur are not running crazy overclocked graphics and its not just ur fps. check ur system and drivers are all up to date including ur motherboard network driver ( part of ur pc that connects to the internet ) also check ctrl + alt + delete and go processes ( all processes ) make sure ur scvhosts are not dominating cpu ( something might not be loading on start up properly ) not sure if u built the pc urself but the first pc i ever built i overlooked the fact my keyboard and mouse had backlights ect and my power supply wasnt enough which caused a crazy performance drop. u can also check for an output toggle switch on ur power supply it may have toggled to a lower output setting at some point, some power supplys have em and some dn't. http://i.imgur.com/2mhdzsu.jpg RR5 Ownage!

I had to go into video card's settings [right click on desktop-> Graphics Properties in my case for Radeon] and lower the sharpness and rendering settings a tier each which resolved my lag
Prior to doing that my screen would have fps drops every other minute where the mouse cursor would flicker and be stuck in place on DAoC You might also un-tick the Atlantis Terrain on character screen options, lower the amount of shadows you see in ingame options, and change facial morph settings which are also on ingame options I do still have screen tearing when turning which is most noticeable on objects like trees, and that is caused by a newer graphics driver release that is faulty on older games- never found a rollback for it :< |
