Hello,

I have an annoying issue with DAoC Uthgard. I have 0.5 minifreeze spikes every 10sec.What can I do to fix it ?

I need a bit more information to try to narrow it down.

Graphical mini freezes? If so:
Can you take and upload a video?

Is this only when you're holding down your mouse? DAoC has some strange mouse lag / stutter problems that only affect a small number of people. You should be able to google around for this.

Lag spikes? If so:
Can you open up a command prompt and enter: ping uthgard.net -t
Let it run for 30 seconds and then Control-C to end it. Does your "time" have a huge bump about 10 seconds apart?

Any more information would be helpful.

It seems to be a graphical freeze. The screen is freezing for a very short moment, and not as a lag. But... here is the ping request :

Indeed, lag spikes every 10sec.

I don't have these freeze spikes everytimes. I wanted to record a video now, but I had no lag. I'm confused !

Could it have been an automated task like a virus scanner running in the background? (shrug) I'm not sure what to tell you.

Also it can be any kind of malware running on background. Try download and run Malwarebytes antimalware (MBAM). It should find and clean threats in your PC.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I do not have these ping-spikes either (16-17ms).

Although 100-150ms does not sound too terrible for an MMO I guess? Not sure what the requirements for DAoC actually are. However, as has already been said, it could also mean that your PC is freezing up / requiring more resources every ~10s which means there is something else going on.

It sux for dAOC , when you want use reactionary styles such as after block or parry. It will fail often.

I had quite a similar problem for a good while. I have a 34 inch widescreen and installed a tool named "Easy setting box".
This tool, i think, forces windows to be dispayed in certain area's (screen1, screen 2, part of screen 1, ...). after uninstalling this, everything went smooth as can be.

Just thought i'd mention this as a possible thing to look for.

Note: iirc I had a similar issue on Genesis back in the days, I don't remember how I fixed it. Install a DLL or something in the DAOC files.

I seem like I notice lag quite often...(cast a spell, no graphic then I'm getting attacked by the mob)

My avg ping in North America is 128 ms

I did a tracert and it is taking me 17 hops to get to uthgard.net

Is this a cause for concern?
