If one of the two combos stated in the topic-name was to serve as the two chars you had on your account for endgame-use, which one would it be? I can't quite decide, but I've narrowed it down to these two combos and am now looking for pros and cons as to how well each combo works in terms of being viable across all of the games aspects.

Theurg + Arms is what I would do.

I think playing a Sorc in PvE is awesome but once you hit 50 you need to establish yourself as a really good player in order to be successful. I think these two will give you the most opportunity to join any type of group.

I'd only recommend Pala if you know all the pros and cons of the class and have friends that know you know how to play well.
If a Paladin uses endurance chant in 1.65, and no one is within 1000 yards to hear it, does it make a sound?

For levelling your pala/sorc combo will both find it easier to get xp groups. Everyone wants end/tank and power regen.

For endgame PvE sorc can farm the best out of all 4, mainly due to the power regen, so he'd be the better solo PvE. All of them are wanted for endgame raiding.

For RvR every group in alb will want one sorc and one arms ideally. Theurgist while wanted are not 'needed' and pally struggles in RvR.

Why did you specifically narrow it down to these combos? Not that theres and issue I just like to hear your thinking.

Well, I've always enjoyed the role of a defensive tank and feel comfy playing it. Others than that I've often enjoyed playing utility mages in games. On top of this, I've tried grinding with a caba/necro before and it's not for me. So this time around I want my pve to be based around grouping mostly.
Im aware pala wont do in 8v8 in the long run, so I thought doing a sorc with it would be good to even that out. In the other combo I thought that the arms prolly wouldn't be ideal for much pve content, so my thinking was that theurg might even that out. That's the thought proces behind it :D

I always thought theurg would fit in most places, both pve and pvp, with their pbt and petspam. If it's a fringe-class, I might consider replacing it with a cleric. But then will I miss out on a char to do the ocassional DM named-circling? not sure..

PBT and petspam is great but power is a massive issue on this server. Just running pbt is a big drain.

I haven't found lack of power to be too much a problem honestly. While leveling, if you are solo as theurg it can be slow if you don't manager your power properly.

However, there will be a ton of people around, so you should be able to group easy enough, or find a sorc to supply you.

End game, it's the same thing. No real issue with power unless you are in like a seriously lengthy fight with no down time. But, you will likely have pots/sorc/RA's etc..

Play what you like more than anything. I love theurg, and I love what I can do in all aspects of the game. That's why I play it.
