I posted this on in general but maybe I'll get more luck here.
I'm looking for some serious no lifers on Albion (I'm talking the finest neckbeards in the land) who plan on rolling Stealthers or need a dedicated minstrel in general. I mostly played Midgard on beta as a Skald and Shadowblade (Kai/Kaikai) but my hearts always been with Albion.
I quit DAOC shortly after TOA hit(I played on Merlin Alb), so everything I know (loot tables, camps, specs, growth rates etc.) is from this patch level. I have no problem being second string in group pvp as I enjoy stealth duos and soloing just as much.
My spec is going to be 50 inst - 29 slash - 33 stealth which requires me to AT to 40.
If a Paladin uses endurance chant in 1.65, and no one is within 1000 yards to hear it, does it make a sound?

Me and a few other people i know will be rolling alb stealthers. PvE grind is gonna be tough as we all have jobs/family etc. Who knows how long everyone will stick around though or if the server will have a population or even RvR after 3-6 months.
What's your in game name going to be? I'll add you.

I am more than likely going to make "Kai" as my name. I might try something if I can get the name fast enough though. If for some reason I do I will message you on here. A lot of people are trying to make stealthers as an Alt, but they are going to miss out on the awesome noob RP's in the beginning. This is the best time to play a stealther imo.

Yea i'm not sure what i'm going to do first. It's gonna be hard to auto train a minstrel to 40 or 50 as my first toon. Once people figure out you're the guy who is AT'ing, they wont want you in the group lol. So i'm thinking Cabalist for pve, plat farming, utility RvR, and then get a minstrel PL'd to 50.

I don't have a neckbeard but I do plan on putting an obscene amount of time into the game. I will be playing a Fire Wiz out the gate

To be honest, I was thinking about it for a while and I mentioned it on another post but if you just AT to 20 you can get 32 stealth making it easier for 50 composite stealth. You will miss out on the 44 thrust possibility stealth though. You could always make 2 minstrils, 1 stealth and and one for group. Making a farming toon may burn you out in the beginning and you will lose out in the fun everybody is a scrub at 50 fun ACrispyTaco wrote:I don't have a neckbeard but I do plan on putting an obscene amount of time into the game. I am all about letting people play whatever class they want and Wizzy is fun for keep defense and zergs but It's probably the worse class on alb at this patch. Not only for pvp, but pve as well. People will rather have a theurg for dragon raids and leveling to 50 so keep that in mind. Play whatever class you want, but just be ready to struggle and have a hard time meeting people...

Eh i don't think thrust minstrel is that great tbh. Most of the time you don't really want to be going toe to toe with any melee otherwise you get eaten up. AND THEN it's a 2nd time combo. As a minstrel, fighting anyone with a shield or evade (which is almost every melee class) is going to make that combo really hard to land. By the way i recommend AT'ing to 40. I thought the patch level we are on doesn't have good crafted thrusts? If I remember Slash and Crush is the only way to get a good slow weapon, thrust is all medium/fast speed weapons which ends up being crap dmg. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought I read that here somewhere. Might be better off going with a Highlander Minst for the extra Str/Con?

Of course I remember! That place is so dreary compared to the other realms. Hopefully we get to group up but I might change my game name. Not sure yet! I don't think it's great either, but for 8 mans you could argue it's better. Slash is the only option as I am going to be stealth though so it does not matter to me. I already decided that if I was going to AT a minstrel it would be best to stop at 40, but I actually want to meet people as I don't have any friends on ALB so the second best option would be level 20 to hit 32 stealth. Exceptional Rapiers are 3.9. Alb has a wide range of speeds for slash and thrust to fit your needs. I actually do not like the thrust line as I have already ran out of qbinds for minstrel and going that trying to run around doing chains is not that appealing for me. Also, I think Highlander is a better choice for stealth minstrel because the only thing that really matters for Minstrel is Con and Dex as our melee damage is complete trash. I am going Briton though because they look better and doing 10 Con 15 Cha as well for attributes.

You won't be able to run 50inst, 32stealth, 29slash until rr8. Maybe rr7 for composite 49 stealth. Keep in mind 1.7mil or 2.7m rps is a longgg time. Anything below that and you might as well not have stealth imo. You'll get popped so much by everyone it will be a waste of time. Unless you're going to go 44inst till then.

It's not like the Shadowblades / Nightshades are going to have 50 stealth to start though. Most people making those classes are going to make farm bots first and more than likely just going to spec 35 stealth to avoid a respec stone at RR5.

Oh you got it all wrong man! Highlander is the way to go for stealth mini. Highlander: 70str, 70con, 50dex, 50qui. Briton: 60str, 60con, 60dex, 60qui. I'd rather do more damage in melee and have more health than 10dex and 10qui. And i'd rather have 10 into str than an extra 5 into char. The melee isn't THAT trash. Albeit sub-part but you can still melee down casters, archers, seers, and half the time you'll be forced to into melee anyway. So 20 extra str will probably be noticeable in damage. 10dex doesnt matter because you're only cast is single target mez. And besides, Irishmen in kilts are bad-ass. Hell i may even change my name to William Wallace.
