I stopped in the beta quite awhile back, and I only went to hib for it.
I have most of my experience on albion, and love paladin.

I'm wondering if those of you who played and rvr'd when beta was very active, if paladin is more sought after/needed for rvr? All thoughts and opinions are fine. I'm certainly hoping they are since uthgard 1.0 all i really got invited for usually was keep farming. with her and couldn't really pug any 8v8 stuff or quite honestly anything else. So basically I'm asking if paladins will be able to 8v8 or is albion still going to be the super elitist "these classes and builds or can't come" attitude like last time?

Thanks ahead of time for any thoughts on the subject :-)

Yo,

I'm no expert on paladins, but I very much like the class as well. From what I understand, they are not "ideal" for RvR because they don't get Det, the range on their endo chant isn't great, and their damage is mediocre. Plus to get the most out of a paladin, you'll want to consider autotraining your skills, which is relatively inconvenient when leveling.

That being said, it wouldn't bother me one bit if a pally were in my RvR group.

Do you guys think that paladins will have problems with finding RvR groups for a casual player?
I loved my pally on live server, and i could do pretty good in small fights and skirmishes .

Can't decide between : Merc - Pally - Inf - Minstrel for now

Btw paladins have FH in this patch right?old RA's?

Cheers

Players will very much want Paladins in casual RvR groups, for zerging, taking keeps, etc. They will probably even find a spot in more casual 8man groups. It's only in competitive 8v8 groups that they will be undesirable.

Minstrels and Mercs will be desirable in all parts of the game, though Infiltrators should probably be kept as an alt, so you can fund them with your main character (which should be useful in PvE). And yes, Paladins do get Faith Healing :)

Make a class that does not Auto-train. Make friends while playing. Ask friends to help you Power-Level a Paladin. Play Paladin.

Auto-training is one of the dumbest things being implemented in DAOC or any game I've ever played but It's here to stay so we have to deal with it if we want to play here.
If a Paladin uses endurance chant in 1.65, and no one is within 1000 yards to hear it, does it make a sound?

Yes some groups will inv u for rvr, but many won't. If there's an armsman and paladin standing at apk arms will get the inv before paladin. Always. Imho just don't bother with it and play a class that everyone accepts into groups ^^
