I have the original disks for DAoC and SI buried somewheres in storage. Can I just dig them out and use them?..Or is downloading the client from the commercial site and letting it update from live the only working option?

And if I can in fact simply use the CDs, is updating from live still mandatory?

Afaik live servers don't even support the CDs anymore, and you need to download the full client before connecting to Uthgard anyway. So might as well use the download option to be sure.

For absolutely certain you must use live. The patching servers on even the "newest" disks aren't even live anymore. You must download the game
