Why not Hibernia?

Greetings,
since all graphs (all one of them) show that hibernia has by far the lowest pop out of the three realms im really thinking about switching over from alb. alb is nice, dont get me wrong, but the beta showed me once again that the classes there just bore me. so how are things over there? are people nobbo-friendly?(i WILL get lost a lot in hib...) do you encounter a lot of elitist jerks that wont invite a champ (not that id ever play one again...my S/S champ on mordred was utter garbage ![]() and finally: what classes are in high demand right now? i used to play the by far most glorious elven enchantress the world has ever seen (not. i still love her tho.) and am quite fond of the class...but from what ive heard about 75% of the population consists of manachanters, which is a bit meh. thanks for your input! |

Looks like a number of hibs are playing chanters/menta/animist(broken) at the moment trying to farm money for their melee classes or supports. The drops a loot is pretty bad over there at the moment so I expect the playing field to level out eventually concerning classes.
As it stands I imagine group setups could look like this or similar with the current classes over there at the moment. Bard Druid Druid hero chanter eld ment x (probably a 2nd hero or bard) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

thanks for your feedback so far!
its too bad, everyone seems to build the boring cookie-cutter stuff. with double grppurge i would have imagined more creative setups (valewalkers for dps, maybe a warden for extra stability in form of heals, pbt and CC resists, yada yada...) |

Vale walkers dps doesn't match up to dps and utility of other classes unfortunately. And some groups may run a warden but by doing so you'll be losing dps again. You need 2 Druids to cover buffs as well as the utility they bring and the best heals. Most groups will want to play with an eld for near sight disease and snare. You couldn't pair an eld with a warden all that well but will go hand in hand with a chanter. Or even a mentalist if only running 1 bard.

tbh i consider the eld one of the two most powerful classes in the game (other being the sorc) and if given the option id NEVER run without one.
what about: double D Bard Hero BM Eld Chanter Warden sorry for nooby questions but ive spent 98% of my playtime on pvp servers where we mixed and matched like idiots and still got away with it somehow. |

Best hib setup imo ![]() Fabienne - Blademaster
Junia - Bard Audrina - Ench ----- Zoe - Sorc Stella - Pala Devon - Scout |

dayum.
i would assume on uth 1.0 the warden would spec something like 42 reg, 49 nurt, 10 blades, 8 parry because of derped defpen. would a warden with 26 reg, 49 nurt, 34 blades, 10 parry get invited? i know....no superduper powerful heals...but since you actually seem to need some WS to hit your sidesnare it doesnt sound like a bad idea...right? RIGHT? and it would even enable said warden to solo some yellow whatevermobs when theres nothing to do ~ |

Pretty decent standard setup. You can also swap the warden for another BM or a light menta too. Best to have your first BM as a shield hybrid though in my eyes. My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.

I'll certainly say Hib here is pretty much the same as it was on live. No melee to speak of cause they can't get groups, everyone's seemingly got a token enchanter for the easy mode xping and folks will only invite certain classes to groups. Pretty much the entire reasons I left the realm in previous years, everyone has to min/max or might as well not play.

Yep. This. If you want to play something other than a Mana Enchanter, Mana Mentalist, Animist, Druid or Bard as your first character, you will have to level up solo unless you have a group of people you know that will "accept you". Most people seem to be creating the focus pulling god class combos so that they can hit level 50 fast. Once they hit Level 50, I imagine they will enter into arrangements with other people and then power level their RvR characters. They will use their focus group overpowered pve set up to farm and template out their RvR characters. It is for this reason that I hope they do not fix the power leveling issue right now and reward no XP when you are 5 levels outside the group range. It is for this reason that I also am not going to roll a Hib because their mindset is cancer. Hibs can shove their focus rods up their ass for all I care. |

thats...quite sad actually!
ill still roll a warden tonight and see how things go. |

Even though I do agree with the above, I would say still give it a shot. There is certainly a ton of focus groups going on but it seems to me that non-focus pull classes are still getting groups, it's just not as often as most would like just yet. I know my guilds alliance in Hib, which I believe is the main alliance, even states to get primarily tanks/melee into groups whether focus or not because they see that hib is going to need those classes. I'm hoping we're seeing more of this now merely because it is beta and folks want to get to end game to try and test everything but that is pure speculation. I made a Hero and even though have only really played him 2 nights or so, I've still been able to make my own groups and get other players playing with me. Most just know how focus is more efficient xp wise and only want to min/max everything they do in the game, rather than helping all classes but it seems it is getting better over time. Especially with the amount of talk about it in general channels and the forums. So definitely still roll a hib, find some folks you like and join a guild. You should still be able to find groups although I would suggest making sure your spec can support some solo killing just in case your play time is during off peak hours. <Blood Feud>

This is community building for you huh? Feeling outcast because you decided to roll a character that less (not all) people desire in their group. If you don't have a game plan like a lot of people so (ie. making farming chars then PLing each other) then that's a problem you'll have to face yourself. Nobody will just hand out xp groups like they are freebies. I said it before and I'll say it again, we need a global channel outside of the buggy /as trash. Making groups would be a hell of a lot simpler and maybe we would see less hib tanks crying about not being invited to focus pull groups. Come on let's be real.
PLing will happen, and random tanks and stealthers most likely won't be handed free invites. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.
