I would like you guys to share experience about PVE ONLY.
I need to feed my infiltrator. For that, i need a first toon dededicated for pve farming.
I know cabalist is good, necro is monster pve. But i dont like cabby kiting and i tried necro it is depressing lol.

I love melee toons. I m thinking about friar, reaver, pally.

I have to say the only caster i could play coz i like it is theurgist.

This char will be seals/dartmoor farmer, tailor/salvager.
It is very important to be able to farm solo, friendly grouped in duo/smallman/grp farming.
It is a bonus if this toon is welcomed in raids.

Plz state your pros and cons.

I fear pally to be far too expensive to make a pve temp, and take AGES to kill orange/reds.

Reaver could be hard to solo with, without endo regen and highly rely on pally bot duo. Maybe never welcomed in raids.

Friar is tempting, but might not be welcomed in smallman pve or large pve farming grp. And maybe raids will see no invite.

Theurgist seems solid raid grps, smallman farming, but i m not sure an earth spec theurgist can farm solo...

I'm also interested in hearing about what else might be viable for farming.

Obviously you have: Necro, Caba, Paladin, Friar....

But what about Theurgist... Spec 35 earth 41 ice.

Can a Theurgist do well farming with level 40 ice pet spam? If so where will be a good spot to farm for gold?

How often does the dragon spawn? theurg will do well for dragon raids of course so this is another way to make money.

I think since you are shying away from Cab and Necro, and want something that can solo, that Friar is probably your best bet.

You should still get dragon raid invites for heat resist, friar is cheaper to template, and you can solo with it.

Is friar still welcomed in dragon raids with the 16% fire resist instead of 24% ?

39 staff 46 ench 25 heal 8 parry
39 staff 45 ench 18 heal 21 parry

Was wondering. Sure the HoT need some tests. Heard it was nerfed a lot on uth 1.0

But it is supposed to be 1.65 like.

With spec and bonus on a tempted friar the 25 spec heal should be 350-400 and the hot should be 100-150 per tick.

For sure we are discussing of a full pve friar, not 100% solo pve but also duo smallman and raids friar

Nope, because Paladin will have 20% usually. So you're offering 4% more than a Paladin with 24%.

Usually on dragon raids, if you're healing you use a lot of very small heals to avoid aggro.

So you might be able to skip 25 in Healing and just get 24. Not a huge difference, but yeah I would do something like that:
39 staff 46 ench 25 heal 8 parry

Do they not stack?

I think it would be OP, paladin aura chant even overwrites the friar AF spec shield buff. Nezix answered as it was friar buff resist OR pally resist chant

They will not remove or overwrite each other. I think they will stack but only up to 26% (which I believe is the cap for non-RA magic buffs) - which would mean 16% wouldn't be so bad if you have a paladin willing to twist in Fire resist the whole time. I should test this on Pendragon later.

But ofc if you don't have a Paladin then 16% is bad.

Still, I don't see why you'd make a Friar and not spec 46 enhance. There's not much reason to go to 50 staff.

To go 50 staff or not to go 50 staff ?
I never mentionned going 50 staff.
I think 39 is enough for solo farm.

45 or 46 buff question was about dragon raids. 7 heal rest parry or 7 parry 24/25 heal was about healing support in dragon raids, because i dont know if friar in dragon raids are expected to support heal or melee.
If they are only required for fire resist then i would probably go high parry for even better solo/duo farming.
I need to try this 24 HoT during the beta.

Now you know more about the plan, maybe you could be more detailed and develop your ideas because one sentence will not help here. Share some solid arguments as Nezix did.

Thx

They will stack up to max.
So you can reach max with just 16% from a friar, if the paladin twists.

I'm also on the hunt for the best PvE-char that isn't a caba/necro ! :o

I did the following temp for a pala, that I tried to keep cheap. Thought I'd chip it in to the discussion, seeing that price on pala-temp is being discussed.
All items should be farmable by yourself (as a pala) except for cloak, for which you'll prolly need to duo something with guard or a cleric/friar.

It's a full 99qua temp and that will hurt a few of the resists. Would have liked to cap body and matter in case of RvR, but it isn't too bad. Spirit is basically only Skald-snares. I'll live with that :) Contrary to this, you could prolly also get away with a few 97-98qua items if you didn't care bout body/matter/energy/spirit (cold is capped from items).
