Dieing in BGs -> release to bind point and not keep? I guess this was a patch era thing? Sucks you have to re-port via summoners if you need to release within the BGs

Apparently it is by design like that in 1.65
https://uthgard.org/tracker/issue/753/ However, I feel we should (unless I'm the only one thinking that) try to convince the staff to fix this. I've commented on the issue in the tracker. Honestly there is no point in going rvr in Abermenai at level 15-19 when 3g is plenty and a medal to port in BG will cost you 10s + the price to heal from rez sickness (but maybe that part's a bug). Server will restart, we'll go there unequipped, broke and without as much time we had 15 years ago. Waiting, if unfortunate, for Glasny 40 minutes on a play time of around 90 minutes is no fun at all :s Please go and upvote this issue if you share the same concerns (or flame me for becoming a casual player with a family) |

No way in hell. They even changed back to the porting system on the Live servers. Because having a time based porting system actually adds weight to fights. Thinks aren't just a constantly mindless death match/stale mate. There's things to be GAINED from wiping out the enemy for a few minutes. Position, time to attack the CK. It was a far far better system and don't assume that people have less time than they used to. |

The Thing with porting/running on hib to emain or elsewhere is OK! But in BG´s if you release YOU MUST START IN YOUR TK again .. everything else is BULLSHIT in my opinion!! ![]() Idc if this was 1.65 or not .. im not gonna Play any BG ... idk if this is the Intention of staff to annoy the People .. i hope they will do a custom Change to this! It is one way to destroy the BG fun. But all you will hear from devs is "it's livelike" (while giggling behind closed fists), on the other hand this will lead to more people in endgame rvr.
So it all has its pros and cons. ![]() |

How is it BS? Why is one okay and one isn't? After turning off RPs and leveling, and /level 20, Thidranki became a stale glut. People would die, charge back out, die, charge back out. It was a constant stalemate of poor tactics and nobody giving a ******. If there's an actual penalty for dying, not only do people THINK a bit more, but victories MEAN something. |

This might have been good for 1.65 when it was applied to existing live. This is not good for a server starting from scratch with 1.65
If the BGs are dead, that in itself is a Beta test result that should be at least looked at. |

It sure is an annoyance. I can understand the desire to make the BG's more attractive so that early on people can experience the thrill of RvR. Especially new players who hear all about DAOC RvR. But I'm doubting you'd see a custom change in this area.

Saying it'll kill BG popularity is kinda dramatic don't you think? considering RvR is kinda.. integral to the entire game's premise and character development.

One shouldn't make assumptions about why the BG are dead. That's something that would require an in game poll. Probably because most folks are busy grinding to RvR. |

As someone who spends (or rather spent) all my time in bgs I can say that the port timing is to punishing and after you kill someone one or two times they are very unlikely to waste their time coming back.
In uth 1 even if I was facing 2vs1 it didn't discourage me from trying because the action was so quick. Let's make the BGs fun again because as they are now it's a trial in frustration and you can only lose Money and time. |
