TLS requirement has been removed in issue #6. You only need TLS 1.0 now which I believe XP supports. Please try again ?

I had to re download the launcher after they made the change to the TLS. After that it worked fine. Try it!

Should I still be able to connect with Windows XP using DAoC portal? I do not want to download all the game in my crappy connection just to find that out...

I know that Uthgard's LAUNCHER does not run on WinXP, but I ask about DAOC PORTAL. Also, I am aware that the portal is not recommendable, but i ask if it is POSSIBLE.

Great to here, thank you :)

I installed vc_redist.x86.exe and then the Uthgard launcher, but when I run the launcher I get the message that uthgard.exe "is not a valid Win32 application" (like in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=36399). I tried both situations when the launcher installer asks about .NET 4.6: let it download or don't let it download.

Do you have any idea?

Check in your control panel if the .NET framework 4.6 is well installed?
Have you rebooted your computer after the install?
These higher versions of .NET framework are not meant to be supported by XP though. The question is why does the launcher need version 4.6 of the framework? Isn't version 4.0 enough?

No, AFAIK it’s not possible to install .NET 4.6 on Windows XP.

When the launcher asks to install .NET 4.6, it seems to download the .exe in a temp directory and tries to install it, but the launcher doesn’t say anything if it was successful or not, it just finishes the installation. However, I copied the downloaded .NET .exe and tried to install it, but the installation isn’t possible because Win XP is not supported (so I guess neither the launcher managed to install it).

Anyway, as Trishin said that the launcher supports Windows XP now, I assume it should work without .NET 4.6, or not?

I'm still getting the "uthgard.exe is not a valid Win32 application" in XP also, after re-downloading the "fixed" launcher.

I'm still getting the same error. It would be great to help with the beta. It's too bad my pc is running windows xp.

Maybe we need to submit a new ticket, because ticket #89 in relation to this problem was closed as a duplicate of ticket #6.

This issue where Uthgard.exe isn't recognized as a valid Win32 application by WinXP needs to be specificed when creating the ticket, so as not to confuse it with any TLS compatibility issues - cause that's NOT what this is about.

Hey everyone, I've submitted a new ticket, dealing specifically with this message "uthgard.exe is not a valid Win32 application." when attempting to open it under Windows XP SP3 x86 OS environment.

https://uthgard.org/tracker/issue/598/ Please go here to vote it up to the priority list!

I don’t know anything about .NET development, but after reading some Stack Overflow posts, I guess the issue we have is still related to .NET 4.6: many people have the mentioned "is not a valid Win32 application" problem when developing with Visual Studio unless they target a WinXP-compatible framework or compile it with some WinXP-compatible setting.

· xxxxxx.exe is not a valid Win32 application (this answer describes a solution for Visual Studio 2015)

· .exe is not a valid Win32 application on Windows XP (this answer explains what might be going on)

· winform, c# application, Visual Studio 2015: *.exe is not a valid Win32 application

Yeah, will do this maybe later today (unless a staff member answers here in this thread or reopens issue #89). EDIT: nvm ;) → https://uthgard.org/tracker/issue/598/
