Do Sorcs do decent damage or are they all just CC?

I love absolute statements like this. In reality, when you are all geared up and level 50, 20 more dex isn't going to make that much of a difference in cast speed. Hell, your latency to the server will probably have a bigger effect than 20 dex will. Your nukes will hit a little harder with the 20 more int from an Avalonian. It's just a choice to make and despite the absolute statements here, there is no right or wrong choice.

You sir are a noob! Ever heard of Dex breakpoints?

Oh you mean like this?: (this was a link to a lengthy post on dex breakpoints on IGN but it won't let me post it because I don't have enough posts. If you want the full link, PM me) /boards/threads/full-cast-speed-test-for-all-delves-click-here-to-see-how-much-dex-you-need-p.250680778/

So yeah, I have heard of them. You'll notice from that gent's tests that they are often more than 20 points between one another. Now let me just pick out one completely at random...

350 dex = 111.0 sec
---------------------------- Breaking point ----------------------------
349 dex = 126.1 sec

So let's just look at this. The guy that made this table did it based on 100 casts of the given spell (2.4 second delve Greater Heal in this case) at each dex level listed. There is a 15.1 second difference between 349 and 350 dex in this case. Divide that by 100 casts and you get .151 seconds. So as I said originally, internet latency can have more of an effect than that.

So IF that 20 dex happens to make you come down on the other side of one of these breakpoints, there is a small difference in casting speed but that's a big IF. Let's look just a little further up the chart for the same spell, shall we?

386 dex = 110.8 sec
358 dex = 110.9 sec

There's a difference of 28 points between those 2 lines and a difference in cast speed of .1 seconds over 100 casts or .001 per cast. Completely insignificant.

Sorry to punch holes in your little min/max world but I stand by what I originally said. 20 points in dex is not going to make or break your character.

Sorc damage per hit is so so. An avalonian won't help that.

This is one of the silliest things I've ever read. Even if they don't have the biggest nukes, they still hit harder with more int. There's no disputing that and unlike with dex, there are no magical int breakpoints (that I know of) that you may or may not be on the right side of.

Breakpoints don't exist on Uthgard, mate. Furthermore, 20 dex beyond 250 = 1% cast speed.
