Hey,

I am using the Uthgard Launcher to start the game. Yesterday everything was fine.

Today when i click connect, Daoc opens and i see the loading bar, halfway through it drops to the desktop and i cant maximize it anymore. The critcal.txt says:

Error Loading Effect Template #10190 (Effects/Relic_Lightbeam_Blue.nif)!
NDLLoadEffectTemplate() Error: [Cannot open file.]
Error Loading Effect Template #10191 (Effects/Relic_Lightbeam_Green.nif)!
NDLLoadEffectTemplate() Error: [Cannot open file.]
Error Loading Effect Template #10196 (Effects/ward_siegeward.nif)!
NDLLoadEffectTemplate() Error: [Cannot open file.]

I tried patching the game to Live status and repatch it with the uthgard Launcher. Still the same problem. Running as Administrator or turning off Firewall didnt solve the issue.

Any suggestions?

Been experiencing kinda the same problem, i have windows 10 x64, every time i launch the game it keeps minimizing itself but it will let me maximize it again... it keeps doing that until i manage to type /quit.

Honestly i think its something related to the screen resolution cause sometimes the game resolution weirds out by itself

Did you change some resolution stuff in the game before this started happening?

I suggest you navigate to:
Your: C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Electronic Arts\Dark Age of Camelot\uth2
Then move the "user.dat" file somewhere else and relaunch the game. That file has all of the client settings like how high your volumn is, what your /keyboard setup is, and things like the resolution. Even if you have multiple copies of DAoC on different drives it shares that file. So moving it out and relaunching the game will recreate the default - if everything works fine then you can slowly change things and see what causes the issue.

Deleted the folder, after launching i heard the DAoC Music (normally i turn it off) so i guess the user files are set to default now. Still im dropping out halfway through the loading screen. :/

Is it possible that im ip-banned or something? i tried to log in a different account to check how the management system works.

Seems unlikely, and you would probably see a message about being banned if it were true. You may just have to wait for a developer to take a look.

Resetting Token doesnt work, tried it with a fresh account doesnt work either.

I tried logging into live. Same problem. I guess it has something to do with a windows update from yesterday to today combined with my geforce 970.

Edit: New graphic driver installed, live-server works --> Uthgard same problem. Shouldnt be the windows update issue. Still looking for a solution

I would try to see if you can locate the files that are "missing" from the critical.log file and replace them if they are not there :/

Usually it happens when some background process or service tries to perform actions at the same moment your game is running. Watch out for culprit processes. Sometimes Windows event viewer can be a good place to find about what is happening at a given time.

I found a solution for my problem. It was the Driver from my geforce gtx 970 causing the issue. i downloaded an older version of the driver and now it works fine.

I tried updating the video drivers many times and it still does the same, could it be windows 10 related? i tried every compatibility and it still does the same.

My "workaround" is to go into the option and keep changing the resolution until it stops.. but its kind of a pain to do this everytime i startup the game as its not that easy with the game constantly going to desktop...

Any solution? Ples halp meh

Hi folks,

I'm having the same issue. Has anyone found a solution yet?
I've tried updating my drivers and playing around with my screen resolution. No success. 8(

I ultimately ended up swapping computers and computer 2 doesn't do it. On this pc, the one that it won't load, I tried reinstalling, updating graphics drivers, some C++ business (which fixed another issue) but no luck.
