Me and my bro planned to go alb and start with a first pve char. For duo he is gonna play a pally and i wish to play a reaver and i need advices.

First, i m not questionning myself. I will not play anything else, not an armsman nor a merc etc...

I like reaver but i m noob on this class. I would like to know :

1) is reaver WANTED in raids ? (Dragon, df princes, légion, any raid actually)

2) how would you rate my chance to get invites in thoses raids ? 1/5 ? 3/5 ? 5/5 ?

3) i plan to fully AT and lvl with crush. How should i split my points level after level ? Always keep soul rending at my lvl ? Keep crush at 50% of my lvl ? 2/3 of my lvl ? How high should be my shield spec compared to my level then ?

4) What RAs i should take for PVE only ?

Best regards

Reaver is okay for raids because you'll have high shield so you can guard the main tank (Pally or Armsman) because you always have a shield out.

Unfortunately, your Style DDs (like Leviathan) won't actually hit high level mobs unless there is a high amount of attackers (which may be viable with Theurgist pets). Just like any casted spell.

I would put your chances at 3/5 - if there are only going to be 2 shield tanks, I think most people would rather have Arms/Pally. Maybe bump that to 4 if there are enough attackers that your reaver aura debuffs can consistently land on the raid. Probably more likely on Dragon with more attackers than a smaller raid group for princes.

If you are ATing Flex then I would keep Crush close to your level - maybe 1-2 points below, and the rest of your points split fairly evenly between SR and Shield.

Keep in mind you only get a Single line respec at 20/40 so you don't want a ton of parry or something you can't train out of.
@20:
19 Crush
14 Shield
14 SR

Keep in mind lower SR means its less power consuming to use.

PvE RAs:
Aug Dex 2 so you can take
MoPain
MoBlock
MoParry

Dragon and legion raids are ok then, and df princes could be difficult to get invite. Is that so ?

Thx for advices concerning spec progession, it helps.

Actually we were hoping to have a very stronger duo for gobs farming and seal farming. Raids could be a nice addition.

I guess having good chance to be invited in dragon/legion raids is already a nice thing.

My bro told me to roll a merc, good synergy and best chance to go all raids.
Duno, i already played a bm for a while and i wished to try something new...

I mean I'm just providing an educated guess on raids. Honestly Princes are probably lower level than the dragon, meaning they need less attackers to lower their resist rate etc.

However, if you come to a raid as a pair I think you'll get more spots than a regular Reaver because people will be begging for Paladin main tank or endo.

And your experience is much appreciated.
If i have to solo pve sometimes, how is solo for a reaver ?
What about race and starting stats pts allocation ?

Solo is fine - it will be harder leveling just because lack of drops etc but life taps will help.
Once you are 50 soloing should be much easier as you'll probably just need to rest for endurance.
Slam -> Leviathian until you can't will kill a lot of mobs. Then you can Slam and use the side style that does less damage but heals you on something weaker to get your health up if you need to.

I would probably go Saracan with 10 in Str/Dex/Qui
Because flex is str/dex and you want high Qui because your big damage comes from getting DD styles off like Leviathan you want a really fast swing speed.

Oh really ? Which means most of reavers dps comes from procs so, the fastest flex will always be the best one to use ?
