Played for about 20mins then crash, logged in again about 4 more times with a crash within 5-10 minutes upon logging in. No error messages and right to desktop, had to cntrl-alt-delete and close program. Any ideas on what could be the cause?
EDIT: Have played live and genesis within the last 2 weeks, both worked , so maybe its something im missing? |

Are you using uthgard launcher ?
Have you updated your game client from live before starting uthgard? Uthgard does not support multi server. Ideally you should have two separate folders one for uthgard and one for live. Another one for Genesis is good also. The thing is that Genesis requires you to install patches that may conflict with uthgard patches. Hence the crash. |

Wiped my pc lean of DAoC then reinstalled everything fresh. Logged in and played for about 3hours, then crashed in the same fashion as before. Gave it 5mins, logged back in, played for 3minutes then crash again! Uncertain as to what could be causing it at this point. Is there a way to find out whats causing the crash on my PC somewhere?

Hello,
please take time to answer my questions above. Also, you may wish to check error logs in your My Documents folder and then Electronic Arts. The logs are named as critical.log or error.log. Hopefully we can find something in there ![]() |

This will definitely not answer my questions. |

Yes I have and used the proper Uthgard launcher. Also I did update my live client before launching uthgard. I now only have one DAoC folder that I used for Uthgard only, live and genesis not on this pc anymore. I could only find the Critical file in the DAoC folder and here is what was in it..
Error Loading Effect Template #10190 (Effects/Relic_Lightbeam_Blue.nif)! NDLLoadEffectTemplate() Error: [Cannot open file.] Error Loading Effect Template #10191 (Effects/Relic_Lightbeam_Green.nif)! NDLLoadEffectTemplate() Error: [Cannot open file.] Error Loading Animation Template #1379 (anims\P_H_1FW_S.KFA)! Error Loading Animation Template #1382 (anims\P_1FW_S.kfa)! Thanks in advance for any help, hope this is what we are looking for! |

I don't think this is the actual problem and I believe that the game can manage without these files.
Are you able to identify a specific game action that would make your game crash? What class are you playing? |
|
Getting a pop up after each crash as well. Something to do with the display drivers or graphics card? I went into the event viewer to see If i could find it and came up with this:
Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered. Tons of those on the event log all corresponding with my crashes. EDIT: Im playing a Sorc and no, nothing specific it seems, pretty random actually. |

This error is so generic that it could be due to pretty much anything. Have you tried to update your graphic card drivers? I suspect a hardware failure otherwise

Yea reinstalling my graphics drivers was one of the first things I did. Is there any way to track down what piece of hardware is failing, short of taking my pc into the shop and handing them my wallet?
|

- IF it's a hardware failure, I would say it's related to your graphic card. You may be able to find softwares that will test it on the website of your manufacturer.
- Also it could be a temperature problem in the CPU. There are softwares that will let you monitor the built in temperature sensor in your CPU so that yo can detect any inconsistencies. But I think if it happens the computer will shutdown immediately. So that could be more a graphic card heating problem. There are softwares to check that as well or you could try to play another heavy-graphics game and see what happens. - RAM failure. There is the "memtest" tool to check that. But this is unlikely as it would cause troubles in the whole system and not just in game. - Many other possibilities but given the error you are having I would go for one of the above. Of course I may also be all wrong and that would be something else ![]() |
