well. im not going to roll a class purely for RvR. if that was the case id just go hib and reroll my beloved chantress. :)
also aint wyvern a follow up to the detaunt? slash would also have the sidesnare to work with.
im sure, the spec you mentioned is optimal for RvR, but im looking for a middle ground option. thanks a lot though for your input!

Slash has no hinder that anyone would ever use (12 seconds lol) and is one of the worst weapon lines in the game overall for RvR. There's nothing wrong with Thrust in PvE. Yes Wyvernfang has an opener that does no damage but that doesn't matter and you wouldn't use it in PvE either. Puncture + Bloody Dance stacking bleeds is good for PvE and thrust actually gets a bonus to many of the diamond mobs.

12 seconds > no snare at all :> and my point was: is a detaunt follow up actually that much more useful than a side style? if we consider the general speed of thrust weaponry i would have to guess that the answer is "yes" still.
and ofc theres nothing wrong with thrust in PvE except that when going thrust you have to go all the way up to 44 (which means dropping the 50 shield). and again....i dont think alb is going to have access to DF that often.
i like the idea though and should probably try a pala in the beta.
it would even be very "back to the roots" for me since a pala was my first toon i rolled in daoc ever. (damn it took ages to ding 50 without SI...)
im quite glad you are actively trying to talk me out of the friar since i predicted myself sitting on the floor crying like a lil babby after hitting 50 with a gimped char.

The damage of Tranq -> Wyv is irrelevant since a Paladin will never do great damage, and 27 seconds is an ungodly amount of time to be hindered, and it can be done again with no immunity. People who are aware will sometimes Purge it (maybe not so much with a 30 minute timer though) because they know they've literally been taken out of the fight for 15+ seconds AFTER Slam expires. It's even better if they Purge Slam right before the Wyvernfang lands

If Alb has no DF then you can still farm metals for salvage easily enough with a Pally.

ofc the damage is irrelevant. i just hope leveling wont be that much of a pain with endu 1. but i guess it will be good enough with max thrust and shield as a blockbot.
ill absolutely think about it! what about RAs?
Id think Dex II, MoB II, Tireless asap, followed by MoParry I, LW I, MoPain I, Purge, Faith Healing?

Something like that would be the idea yeah. Avoid Pain and Ignore Pain are also some alternate routes you could go and they can even help in PvE. Depends on preference and playstyle and who you group with.

Old RA Tireless is almost completely useless.
1% (per rank) endo every 8 seconds if you are in combat OR moving. Meh.
Only reason I would take 1 point of this would be on some non-Paladin class so that I could very slowly get some endo back during a long run. But really meh.

Avoid Pain is too expensive for me tbh. and IP....maybe when i hit RR10 :p
as for Tireless....i love getting old lvl 1 passives. im absolutely gonna get toughness and AoM I as well. i just cant help it. even if its almost useless. also its gonna help me level since im gonna be stuck with endu 1 for a looong time when ATing.
i think people on the forums often just see the endgame. but on uthgard the road to 50 might be steep. especially for people with jobs n stuff :)
