Hey

i played uthgard for nearly 2 years and i m happy to come back soon with the next release.
with the 1.65 changes old RA's etc, i feel i lost my way a little bit with the time passing.

i used to play a NS and loved it really. i'm not a fan of albion but i confess i played an INF for several years on live and the idea to get a 9sec dragonfang once more is ****** appealing...

My memories are fading so i have several questions and i thank you for your advices :

1) What's your opinion of NS vs INF for uthgard 2.0 ? Why ? Pros and Cons plz

2) If i play an archer i'll go ranger as i always did too, what about rangers in stealthers war ? do you feel archers will have the upper hand vs melee stealthers ?

3) Leveling and stuffing a stealther requires a farm/raiding character,
For alb or hib, what should i choose ? (i intended to spec this char as a tailor too for salvage)

Thx

Inf & NS pros and cons:

Inf pros:
More spec points
9 second stun off evade
Vanish is okay - can double perf
Strong even at low RR
Good armor type vs other stealthers (neutral slash, resistant to thrust)
Gets to port to emain

NS Pros:
Has more to pour high RR into
Only stealther to get Absorb Pain
Viper is strong, I would say better than Vanish as an RA
Armor type pretty good (neutral thrust, resistant slash)

NS Con:
Has to run to emain.
Weak at low-mid RR.
Only short stun
Bad race choices (low con)

I think Infiltrator is generally better. Yes a rr10 of both with everything up the NS has a big advantage. But most fights you won't have everything up, and you'll just get DFed and die without purge. Infiltrator doesn't get Absorb pain but can instead put that huge investment into passives that will be up every fight.

Rangers:
Will be the best archer for stealth wars, but generally bad because of See Hidden. you will eat a lot of perfs w/o camo up. Better if you plan on not being totally solo all the time. Remember no physical defense in old RAs, and no Uthgard 1.0 version of MoStealth

Alb: Cleric, Theurgist or Paladin will be pretty wanted for dragon groups. Maybe Friar for heat resist.
Hib: Animist, Druid, ??? - not totally sure after animist spam

Thank you very much for your feedback.
INF seems to be the best choice, but closely followed by NS then. Vanish vs Viper... hard to say how a 30 mins timers double dot (for 30 seconds only!) can outmatched Vanish, and this one cannot be "purged" as Viper could be...

I think theurg is nice as a first char, casters don't requires a lot of money for armors etc... plus they are usually most welcomed because of PBT.

I can't decided yet and i need more feedback, btw for hib, since i dislike playing as an animist, what else could be good ? menty ?

Just keep in mind it's old RA vanish. It stealths you and maybe makes you harder to detect for a few seconds. It doesn't wipe dots on you, and you better put away your weapons first or you'll just kick yourself right back out of stealth. But with good timing you can land that double perf ;)

which means, if you are doted, you dragonfang your target and must purge the dot BEFORE you vanish ?

It means that if you vanish, and the dot ticks, it will kick you out of stealth. I don't have links on me but I watched some old footage of old vanish + perf and it was mostly against non-assassins. They would perf, fight for a bit, sheath their weapons and vanish and perf really fast.

don't bother about the links i trust you i just wanted to fully understand the old mechanics

btw is it still possible to : dragonfang>hamstring>hamstring>hamstring (yeah, 3 times) >leaper>rib separation ?

i used that chain with my 50 CS inf and it was a tons of dmg and VERY low endu combo. so very good dmg/endu ratio

atm for inf the only bad point to me is... alb. dang lol. i never enjoyed albs community on any server.

Totally possible if you have the speed for it.

Realm community differs a lot between servers that I've seen so you'll never know really.

One of the benefits of NS and SB over the Inf is that you probably will have relic bonuses to damage of between 10-20%.

I do not, believe me. SB is a good class really. I did not mentionned it in my thoughts coz i just don't like running around with 2 handed sword and 2 axes.
It is a matter of taste, believe me.
I never played mid a lot, and when i did it was for tank class.

Btw, i ask again.

If the choice is INF, what is the best choice for a first toon ? assuming i m not sure what is the best between a solo farming/tailor/salvaging toon or an easy grouped farming/raid char.

Same question if i go hib and NS. i would prefer to avoid animist as i would for necro if i go to alb. i just can't stand those class EVEN i know they are awesome for this purpose yeah sorry.

in Alb you can go matter caba to farm, if later you change your mind you have the chance to switch to RvR spec ;)
