I would like to know how many of the complainers yelled for old ras once.

- Roll a necro for farming money
- take the money and level an alchemist
- build up endu regen pots
- roll armsmen instead palas for rvr
- kite teh hell out of mids and hibs and spam /laugh while you cc dem out

Ofc. Albion is still a competive realm and not that bad as some ppl call it here.

Same was said on that other server when they went 2 minutes on endo pots but then eventually gave hybrids a custom Det3. Now everyone plays Albion.
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc

The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

AP was nice for highRR NS, but keep in mind there were not too many (far fewer RPs per kill than we are used to).

Personally, I found that the really cool thing about NS was Wild Arcana. (I still remember how Mythic advertised NS as "Stealth+Magic" in the paper that came with the box :gaga: ).
WA also required some RR and some sacrifice, but the chance for Crit DoTs and especially crit STR/CON debuff (pre-BB time) was just pure fun. Crit STR/CON basically meaned your target could not move any more...

I was undecided on if I wanted to roll an NS or a Ranger and I think this will push me towards NS. Even though stealth life will be grueling, I still really want to try it out.

Depends on if a casual player will be able to get RP's to get a decent RR, high RR NS would be nice to play. But depends on how the server gives out RP's, not many of us have the time we used to have!

I don ´t mind give det to palas, but then every class should have access to det otherwise there would be much more complaints then before.

Out of ~30 people I used to play with on genesis, I've only met 1 person who's going alb, and everyone is trying to convince him not to. The casuals will of course spread out relatively equally IMO.

Then you have to factor in the following:
- people who chase relics (likely won't be on alb)
- people who get tired of never having crafting/exp/keep bonuses from owning keeps
- casuals who get tired of being ganked by bloodthirsty hibs/mids swarming APK when they run out of each other to fight

This effect probably won't be that noticeable at launch when everyone is still running on excitement and hype. Give it a few months, and when people realize just how big of disadvantage alb is playing with they'll start moving to hib/mid, which will cause a mass exodus. Eventually, the devs will of course launch a last-ditch-effort and likely implement some custom changes to get the population/balance back on track, but if history has taught us anything, it will be too late.

This is the smartest thing ever said on these forums.

Alb is going to be a trash can and anyone who disagrees is just delusional. Even if SOS and BOF had 3 minute cooldowns it would be hopeless because of how it takes 12 Alb classes to do with 3 Hib classes can do.

BTW, i believe that nowadays DAOC would be more fashion and more appealing for young generations if the command list could be activated with hashtag rather than with slash.

DAoC could practically be played with hashtags alone...Oh the horror... It would become what my facebook feed is now :( I need new friends...

For all the people not rolling alb... Are we forgetting that mincers have drums to play on too? Or that sorcs are probably the most versitile casters in game. Back when i played classic and SI on live, people would roll with 2x8man groups rather than 1x 8man. It made assisttrains all the easier. Hib was all about CC and pbaeing the ****** out of people because of those baseline stuns, mid would be the melee assist train, and alb...yeah, albs were just zerging...nothing new there :P They didnt do badly though, and several servers had alb as the dominant realm.

Do keep in mind, that sheer numbers and organisation is going to beat any 1x 8man elitist farmgroup out there. It could potentially be devastating to a realm to rely on these elitist jerks, since they really dont care much for anyone but themselves.

Also, with no buffbots, classes with selfbuffs will do better, and may even get spots in groups due to the lack of conc.

There's more to it than that and you know it. I've already addressed this point.

It's not. It's not even smart enough to elaborate on why. It's just trivial, precaution whine to absolutely make sure not being ignored about something that hasn't even started yet, based on questionable experience from genesis.

FYI, top-notch-squad player caring about the poor casuals, ... yeah, I'd bet your grandma that's his concern, and totally not raping enough.

He, as well as you, soon enough will figure that the loudest kid doesn't necessarily pull the most attention here, aside of the ones from trolls, obviously.
