Frequent updates would definitely be great, and hopefully it doesn't take so much longer until the server can be launched. Judging from the news posts there's not so much left to do anymore.

We still cannot estimate any potential release date for relaunching, but we will need one or two months for sure. We will keep you up to date! You can also follow our development progress in the gallery.
That's from February 2014. And looking at the progress that was made or rather what Trishin recently said about RvR basically still being a big construction site, I would be surprised if the server launches before Q3 2016, if ever (leaning towards the latter as there doesn't seem to be a great deal of momentum or strong leadership left).

No ETA + it will probably need 2/3 months of beta testing, I hope I'm wrong but I doubt that the real relauch will be before late 2016 or 2017.

That might be true but the Staff said several times that they couldn't expect some issues they had while coding. Players can be frustrated, but i think that the Staff too doesn't like to code for 2+ years, so it's been necessary and thank them they are still making efforts to finish it. Let them work without that excessive pressure that can lead them to stop this project. On the other hand, any news, update, leak can help the community in working for this project, instead of complaining.

Let's say that I'm sure they're doing a good work, so there won't be so many bugs left and 2/3 months of beta will be enough !

Well was suggested several times to start recruiting motivated ppl instead of crossing fingers that ppl who seems to just want to get over it try to fix it. Without spirit and commitment, there is no process.

What about grab bags?
Also, i know the whole story about "livelike or gtfo" that have been running on uth1.0, and i guess it still does, but there are -few- things that came after that patch target which might enhance the "quality of life" of the players => server pop, such as rvr missions, housing, pve horses, and another example could be medallion for teleportation at gateszone keep (Beno/Crau/Bled) if not recently under attack (or a valid alternative could be the horse-line from border keeps depending on the "keepchain").
Those things have really low impact on the patch level fragile balance, but on the other hand quite a huge help on the health and sustainment of the player base (either rvr orinted or pve oriented)
And yes, i know that till there will be lots of hundreds of players those things wont be really necessary, but hey, ****** happen when the other way around happen.. so maybe better think about it earlier imho
Good luck

Source on having a "huge help on the health and sustainment of the player base"?

It is indeed, and sadly you are right... I know i was provocative a bit, what i meant is that Caemma's post is logical, even if it's not based on data, but on Good sense and experience (imho).

Good sense doesnt always result in great results... I too want the server to reopen, but we have to be patient, and also stop giving "imo" advice... Uthgard has been succesful for so long and im pretty sure they will again. They know what they are doing, well except for Trishin ;-O
