Laugh. It's going to be so "exactly" like DAOC, except for all the new stuff, which of course takes longer to put into place. Eventually the server will open for the few remaining people interested in playing a 15 year old game.

Old RA would have been nice two years ago, nowadays no one cares about them anymore since they were "implemented" on Origins already.
But still good luck with Uthgard 2.0. Imo go back to New RA before launching a game no one likes :P
Well most still don't even work correctly over there and some have been disabled since the start. Safe to assume everything will be working fine here after 2+ years so far.

Will you still be here then since you're continuing to post? 8O
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt
[3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck
lordgriffon wrote:Oh by the way... ever seen a group of 8 smite clerics? Or play against a group like that? I have. Absolute devastation. The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Thanks for the update, I think it's great how you are making an effort regarding regular news and seasonal greetings.

And we all know that those who complain the most will be the first to be back on the server. Your habitual grumbling is nothing more than a testament to the fact that you still deeply care about Uthgard, as we all do, even though you may express it in a different way.

It is what the community voted for and what fits best for our targeted patch level. Besides, I haven't played on Genesis, but possibly some of their implementations differ from ours. I think we should wait how those RAs work out on Uthgard and then start judging.

old RAs are great. And they are what is needed for a truly classic DAoC experience! RvR is much more interesting with old RAs. More diversity and perfect for the patch level this project will be running on.

Currently we are closing in on completing what is an extremely advanced RvR and relic system. There are many exciting benefits hidden behind the keep system on the new Uthgard – Uthgard will be beneficial and exciting for all types of players – whether it be 8v8, solo, zerging or small man. The powers of the keeps are significant. We are certain that all players will be keeping them guarded for the wonderful bonuses that they hold. We would also like to add that these bonuses are not custom and are very much within our patch level. A more significant update post of our keep and relic system will be released to you soon. This post will detail all you need to know about the keep system so that you are fully prepared once we are live.

Hey,
thanks for the update. I ´m a bit confused about the sentences above, due the old daoc patch level we ´re aiming for had less benefits then the newer Uthgard 1.0 for keeps etc. afaik.
So if there is no custom solutions for keeps and rvr, there probably ain ´t so much goodies compared to Uthgard 1.0 like some of us would imagine. I ´m very curious about the detailed summary that follows.

Excitement would be bigger if you had postened Uth 2.0 will definitely release this year. Anyway, always nice to hear some news of you guys.

Glad to hear the water beetles are ok, can ´t wait to lower their population in Mardagh with a Pitted Broadsword .

Keep Bonuses:

We've added bonuses to PvP combat directly relating to the ownership of the various Frontier Keeps. All of these bonuses, as well as bonuses for the Relics, can be viewed by clicking the Bonuses button on your character sheet (this used to be the Resists page).

These bonuses only affect PVP melee damage, PVP spell damage, realm point accrual and bounty point accrual. They are:

- +1% per enemy Keep conquered by your realm in an enemy realm

- +2%xDIFF if your guild is currently holding a keep (DIFF is the outpost difficulty level 1 to 5)

- +3%xDIFF if you are defending a keep that your guild alliance is holding
For example, if your realm has conquered 5 outposts in other realms, you'll always receive a +5% bonus no matter where you are. If in addition you are in a guild holding a difficulty 3 keep just across the border, you'll get an additional +6% (total of +11%) bonus no matter where you are. If in addition you are fighting in the name region of your held keep you'll get an additional +9% (total of +20%).
