Let me correct you "I never cared about anyone's fun but for my fun". You kill solo's, zerg people trying to 8man, and add on 8man fights... You my friend are a cancer in the world of DAoC. Yea I guess you did build a zerg once a week that outnumbered every other realm 5to1, that must have been fun.... If anything elite 8man groups are far more friendly and respectful then your guild ever was. In a small DAoC community one must think of the other realms enjoyment and elite players unconsciously do this by being fair players. There are two other realm in which you can build zergs and have mindless RvR all you want, but why you brought this cancerous style to emain is beyond my understanding. Elite players are fair, we let solo players have their fun, smallmans, and we let 8man fights continue without being a dick and adding. Think of it as in RL, you see a fight, then just start ganging up on one guy, that is the DG mentality. I like to think of Elite players as MMA fighters, we want fair fights to prove we are great. It's obvious you don't want to be proven great and we can tell by how awful your guild was in 8v8, yet you ran 8man everyday as to try and prove something, only to give up and start adding/zerging fights because it was impossible for a rr11+ players to beat rr5+. Maybe if you didn't try so hard to always be on top you could have learned something and become better players....

As much as I like $hitting on DGs table, keeping up the runs even while standing few chances is not something I'd critisize them for. They showed a lot of endurance there. And I also still prefer enemies zerging than no enemies at all.

Drachengarde is the worst of all elitist groups... expect of all others. I don ´t wanna defend Drachengarde here, as preyed Hib I had many moments where I was angry about them, but we must be fair. They did much for their realm and other players too. As above I don ´t call names, but most of these other, similar rvr focussed grps/players only cared about their 8vs8 , realmpoints and didn ´t care about anyone or anything else in the past . Are these guys any better than DG? As stated before Midgard did best in the past and ofc it had something to do with community, realm pride and ppl like Holsten who kept their realm together. Just my 2 cents.

I guess many people will never admit that, but let's be real: who would join a group of people who would insult you (causal-random player) for everything goes bad (even if it's not entirely your fault..), i mean, is really this what you think you wanted/missed?
Let's be honest for once: The "problems" of evil-elitist 8mans is not that they don't invite casuals in their groups (btw they're usually built to be 8 known players), but imho the main problem is that they can easly overkill random enemy PUGs or weak zergs/keeptakers around the frontiers, which most of times makes them also quit/disband/scatter around, making those pugs a real pain in the ass to keep going, because i've seen many times pugs broke (or do something else) when "no others pugs out".
This is what (in my opinion) makes elite8man in a bad light (aka hated) for the "RvR ecosystem".. But saddly you can't blame the "big fish" to scare the others away. (please notice: the same thing can applied to a huge zerg)

You must understand. The most important thing on planet earth to Seksy is being considered an "elite" daoc player. I am not even kidding. If he could chose getting a billion dollars and a super model for a wife or having everyone on earth consider him 100% Pure Elite Dark Age of Camelot God ill let you guess what he would pick...
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.
These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.

holsten-knight wrote:I think the secret for more fun for everyone is to build your groups according to the enemies out. And that is a skill really hard to master. I often invited "casuals" or "randoms" or we ran strange setups as long as not too strong enemies were out, or not enough of our regular grp or guid on. If you tell them they might have to leave the grp as soon as more of your guild are on, and then kindly ask them to leave (after the current run is finished of course, no instant kick), everyone I invited was grateful und understanding. And sometimes you even get to know good player that way, so you invite them more often. Which is also an advantage for you, as you get a bigger playerpool to build good groups. Sometimes you have to build real good groups to be competetive, and a bad setup or player only leads to zero fun for everyone in the group. So to insist on good setup/player is not always what I call elitist behaviour.
What I don't understand and call elitist behavior is this 7 people standing in pk for hours and waiting for their 8 to log in, even if the perfect matching classes spam lfg right next to them for hours. Just to keep your reputation of beeing a real good group and don't lose a fight in an embarrsing way. So what, ****** happens. I never cared for my reputation but only for my fun.
Yeah Thuerg party. 8 fully filthy thuergs. Pets coming at you from everywhere. PET THEM
