Do tell, what exactly are you wanting to see? You know how every single freeshard is unstable with zone freezes? The point of rewriting ****** is to prevent those kinds of occurances. DOL is not a carbon copy of Live's servers, it's an emulator |

hmm, I think it would not be hard to post some simple facts what is done like this for example:
- Implemented Quest .... - Further improvement of pathfinding in Galaldoria.... - some more changes - currently working on passage of conflict.... Sentences like... some progress was made....end. Looking like it is, an ironic answer to some ppl who ´re asking about state and progress here. I don ´t mind about it and I think you keep the information away from the players to prevent discussions and flames or maybe dissapointment,- if it ´s getting obvious that the general speed of progress is damn slow and we are far away from a release date. I understand this kind of politics but from player sight you must confess that it ´s hard to endure. I really hope, you ´ll get the major work done this year and start the beta asap. No need for news then anymore because players can take a look on their own and maybe can give some hints and advice about things not working /missing yet. |

We had a similar discussion around a year ago and people were upset seeing or hearing about worldbuild stuff, thinking it was the delay. We're not holding up the release on any worldbuild. Also would it really be interested in hearing things like
"Converted some mobs from old spawn to new spawn system" ? I just don't see how that's any more helpful |

I personally agree and don't think updates like this one mentioned above would be useful. There are many people though who simply expect regular updates from developers as to specifics of changes happening, perhaps call them spoiled by large companies that make this a regular practice because of the resources that they have. Hopefully the grab bags will satisfy some of these people. ![]() ![]() |

Why not Aby? Ppl don ´t have a clue what this whole evamp is about and what ´s going on and some of them even believe this project is already dead and have gone forever. It feels like you shutting the doors and the players are left outside in the rain. It would be better to let them be a part of the progress so staff and players are one community and not seperated in different corners so the waiting would not be feeling so bad and dead like it is. If you read the comments and see the reactions of the players,- and I know you do because I see you often browse this forums,I ´m pretty sure you knda agree with me. Server is down and it can ´t be helped, but you can be smart and should take care of your loyal players to keep their focus and show them a bit of thankfullness as they still show you patience and thankfullness on their own, right? Ppl are starved about the time the server is down, ppl who ´re still alive and still check this forum for news are hard veterans who would be easy satisfied with some relevant news. But this discussion is getting old, the arguments have been said many times before like the most other phrases and nothing will change. As I admire the work of staff , I ´m sorry to say,- your communication skills are still on a low level, even if it got a bit better about the last months. P.S What ´s about the great improvement you mentioned before that nearly made you cry? I would like to hear some details, pretty sure I ´m not the only one ![]() |

I already proposed on the previous page a way to share the progress with the community. You are right, not many would be interested in "converted X mobs in zone Y to new spawn system". But more general description of things devs are working on at the present time and perhaps list of things left to finish and test before the next stage would be nice to find out I think. Also, given the fact there was no actual news update since March except grab bags that hardly can be considered an update, I am sure you could find a few things to share with us about the development progress. Well I guess I'm in the minority but I'd really love to hear about this actually. Don't get me wrong: There's no need to publish things like "Changed all C# private field names to camel casing with leading underscore" or stuff like that, but I'd like to hear about world build improvements. But if people complained about this in the past I can understand that you keep it to yourself. |
