Feuille wrote:Corpse summoner means you can bind on a keep that your realm own. If you die near that keep (Idk how far) you can use a /command to teleport your dead body on that keep. Here, a rezer can rez you. This feature was very nice on keep defense, as defender you can take high risk to rush and try to kill people. If you die, you can telerport your body to the keep More infos about courrier tasks : We have introduced a new set of tasks named "Courier missions". These missions take place within the frontiers and can only be given to players who are 30th level or higher. There are two sides to each mission, a kill task and a protect task. The primary goal of the kill task is to speak with the mark dealer for a task, locate the courier listed, hunt the courier down, and then kill it. The protect task is a bit different in that you must find the courier, speak to it to obtain the task, and then ensure the courier reaches its destination alive. To better assist the defenders in locating a courier to defend, we have also added a status monitor within both border keeps. These status monitors will broadcast to the entire keep if a courier needs a defender and where this courier is located. You can also speak with this monitor to find if there are any couriers in transit that require assistance. As with all tasks, you may use /task command to receive the status of your task at any time. Please note that you will have only one hour to complete this task. Should the courier take longer than this to reach its destination or should you not locate the courier, the task is considered forfeit.
The details of the rewards are as follows:
Kill Task - A large sum of coin will be split evenly to anyone who is on this task when the courier is killed. In order to receive your reward, you must be within 6000 units (just outside of visual range) of the courier when it dies.
Protect Task - A large sum of coin will be split evenly to anyone who is on this task when the courier reaches its destination. In order to receive your reward, you must be within 6000 units (just outside of visual range) of the courier when it reaches this point.
Following is the list of Mark Dealers and Status Monitors:
Albion
Status monitors: Kirbie Hareford (Castle Sauvage), Paytan Varden (Snowdonia Keep)
Midgard mark dealer: Ohtor (Portal Keep - Hadrian’s Wall)
Hibernia mark dealer: Edouarz (Portal Keep - Hadrian’s Wall)
Midgard
Status monitors: Ulfr (Svasud Faste), Steig (Vindsaul Faste)
Albion mark dealer: Bardolf Culthit (Portal Keep - Odin’s Gate)
Hibernia mark dealer: Drust (Portal Keep - Odin’s Gate)
Hibernia
Status monitors: Garth (Druim Ligen), Eodan (Druim Cain)
Albion mark dealer: Centwine Melgim (Portal Keep - Emain Macha)
Midgard mark dealer: Skuti (Portal Keep - Emain Macha)
I really hoped it would be sumthing different and tasks for rp gain would be still available. For non stealthers- solo chars it might be really hard to archieve any realmpoints, for groups that can ´t stand a 8 vs 8 situation also,- there ´s only a way to zerg or defend a raided keep. Who cares about coin only quests,- if they are like mentioned above. I see the options be made for some situations like this and staff is trying to keep the action in the frontiers, but I ´m not sure if they will succeed. Well, it was pretty obviously like things gonna be after realizing the other changes before I guess. Thalien is right, the server is gonna be casual unfriendly. Just a simple fact I noticed. We ´ll see how it ´s gonna be, nuff said.

It was clear from the beginning the Staff never had intentions to make the server casual-friendly. Servers gonna boom for half a year and then dry out again in terms of RvR. They are purely relying on communitys incentives to create "zergleaders" and think those would be able to keep the casual RvR population high Sadly none of them really knows the game enough to create a good server. It will be the best copy of 1.65 possible with no doubts, but thats about it. Its a copy of a game that is very much depending on its playerbase and you cant copy the playbase of 2002/3. You would need customisations, but i believe now, more than ever before, this word is the devil in the Uthgard-Staffs mind. The only reason for casuals to stay on Uthgard 2.0 longer than on Uthgard 1.0 will be the PvE content once SI is released. The 8vs8 community will probably increase and make sure the frontier zones will be a casual desert asap

I personally just want to play, I love the whole game and don't just focus on RvR even though I know that is probably considered the main point of the game. I think its hard for devs etc to make a casual friendly game like this. You either make things really easy to obtain and so the hard core players get it much faster because they play more or you make things hard to get which hurts casual gaming. I am a casual gamer compared to many, I don't spend 5+ hours on the game at a time and hate things like raiding. I love the crafting and the things you can do solo and my biggest issue is why punish people for wanting to solo and do their own thing. That is what casual gamer's do. They don't want to have to sit around looking for a group, I never understood the anti-bot people. People who group have major advantages over people who solo. All I would like to do is have 2 accounts, one for a tank and one for a healer, it wouldn't be at all fast but it would allow me to level two of the most annoying classes to level so that if I do want to group at some point I can but I don't have to rely on grouping. Most people hate playing tanks/healers because its so hard to solo compared to other classes so you then are forced to group. I hate being forced to do something I don't want to do. Anyways my 2 cents, you want to make the server for casual friendly? Stop going after people for wanting to play 2 accounts at the same time.

Or play against a group like that? I have. Absolute devastation. The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

I wish you could have such an influence on RvR but its just gonna end up the same as it did on Uth 1.0. 8vs8 or Zerg vs Keep.

Once i read this i couldn't resist answering. Really? This explains a lot about your attitude towards Daoc. Go play live maybe they don't care or would be very happy if you play a bot (paying of course) but in old Frontiers and in my opinion this will, and has, ruined the game.

Isn't there a point of diminishing returns between getting the server EXACTLY like 1.65 and delaying the opening? I suspect the easy stuff was already done long ago and now the developers are at the hard stuff trying to get whatever exactly right and it takes an excessively long period of time to get this last part done. Probably why we don't see an estimate on when the server might open because projects that have yet to be completed (the hard stuff) are taking much longer than the previous projects (the easy stuff).
When do you say "Good Enough" and open the server? Does the PvE encounter in the corner of the starter SI map that drops trash loot not have correct mob pathing, so you delay the opening another 3 months to fix it? I know that's an extreme example but trying to make a point. If we aren't almost done with 1.65 implementation at this stage, is it really worth it to get it exactly to 1.65?
