the server wipe was really necessary, i think we all know that.
best argument for this is that i reached rr11, thats just impossible! (i´m progimp!)

i can absolutely understand lazaren here, it is true that the policy of the uthgard staff wasnt the best in the last years. i dont think that anyone forgot the old problems we had, in our community, with our gms and with the past bugs our staff fixed in this time.

and here is the one question: would uth be down today if genesis never appeared?

i guess not, we would still play our old charackters and face the same sh!t like before the revamp.
but i am full of hope that on uth 2.0 WE can change many things. most from the community itself, and some from the staff side. this revamp gives all of us, the gms and the comunity, a new start where we can predict and avoid old problems for the sake of our fun.

p.s. lazaren since i know your "special" picture from the uth forum and i am realizing this tag in your name...
damnit i have to ask it... do you want to blow up something? :D

IS lazaren placed the bomb, terrorist win xD

roflcopter, meanwhile I don't care too much if the server comes back online anymore... but pls never close this forum, my work would become a boring hell. I laughed so hard at lazarens

And then oswaldo completely ignoring lazarens posts, and just blaming him for QQ. Oh man, this is the best comedy

Killdich shoukd be a custom title awarded to ppl that get a temporarry ban for harassing players/staff. Thats a custom change i would stand behind
Hiois - Ranger 9lX Uth 1.0
Hiois - Enchanter 6lx Uth 2.0
Mugad - Warden 4lx Uth 2.0
Esigil - Druid 3lx Uth 2.0
Hioisx - Nightshade 1lx Uth 2.0

Im thinking myself the wipe was needed and will bring fresh air into uthgard. the question is only how Long this fresh air Keeps refreshing. .

This one, is the best question I´ve seen in the lately posts here. The answer is pretty simple, with that hardcore setting the elitists will gain advantage in realmrank way more easier then Uthgard 1.0 . No xps while dead, (probably) no guard tasks, no battlegates where you can gain a competive realmrank to start big rvr etc....

This is no whine, it ´s just simple facts. Of course, at the beginning these points are pretty unimportant, but when this server goes for a while, it will change and the downcast caused by some high realmrank groups that are dominating will be way quicker then the last time. There ´s at some point no reason for casual-grp players to enter the frontiers, guard tasks are needed to lure them outside their homezone, because in big rvr they don ´t want getting farmed all day by the ol ´groups.

Say what you want, but Uthgard 2.0 will be casual /rand00m unfriendly in when time goes by, the same old duscussions about some player love in form of custom changes/patches for the casuals will come, when the server reaches bad numbers in population. But then it ´s too late, because most of the leaving players won ´t come back, you see that at Genesis. So enjoy your stay from the scratch as long as the action is great, these good times won ´t last forever.

daoc is believe it or not very casual player friendly game, all time and effort will continuously improve ur status. with enough time and effort every person who has an interest can have a rr10 rr11 rr12.

holsten is a great example. wasnt always top lwrp earner, didnt always have the strongest grp, but he played, he tried, he got rr12 in good time.

slow and steady wins the race, I always said that, and proved it.
I think my highest LWRP ever was something around 330k, but for quite a long time (like more than 1 year) I never was below 200k... gosh what a waste of lifetime, I am such a nerd

Well considering the very high RR people on uthgard were clueless, which is a sign that even randoms/casuals or what you want to call them, actually can do very fine in a game like daoc i guess

realy it comes down to fun, some people are under the impression that playing at higher rr = more fun, but i gotta say nothing is more fun than winning as the underdog, every battle is a challenge / fun.

when ur fg is rr10+ and u stream roll a pug w/o blinking, its amusing yes, might make me smile abit, but its not that fun in the grand scale of things.

Well, some of your posts are good, but you have to learn to read posts of other members right and understand the content.
I never said I want to change it, I ´m just telling how things will gonna be, if these opinion might change something, fine, but this train hast left the station long time ago in my opinion, so there is no need to discuss some things over and over again, because the decissions are made. Staff is making the rules and the way is clear.

I will play anyway no matter what, but if I ´ll play rvr? I dunno yet, that depends on many factors. Ofc you can be succesfull, but as said before, time factor is a really important thing, and when ppl have not much time to play cause of work, family etc. they are in a worse position. Yes, this factor is always the matter, but with this setup of the server and my mentioned points this disadvantage is getting bigger. As I said, no need to argue or discuss about that topic here, it ´s just the way it is.

I actually am playing Cities as well... Simcity disappointed me but I am very confused and feel like cities has a high learning curve. I do agree without I would love to be play DAoC instead.... though not in Midgard.

Is haste/haste debuff going to work correctly this time? (Should only affect swing speed, not damage)
