Dam Uthgard should setup a donation bar showing who and how much people donate. While having a monthly goal of like 300$ or something. Genesis Does it and they seem to be making bank! Imagine you get all of genesis players and they see exactly how a real Freeshard should work, omg you would get so much more money. If the staff wanted they could sell Plat for RL money too, j/k . Pay to Win baby! or is it?

I see so you would be shaming the people that can't afford to donate or donate very little is that it? Genesis is stupid and anyone that believes that making donations public are the way to go is too. I sure hope your joking about pay to get paid in game. People should have to do the work IN GAME and not just be able to rely on paying RL money to give them an advantage. One reason pretty much all MMO's such right now. I don't mind if people want to spend RL money on stuff that does not affect advantage or mechanics in the game like outfits, mounts etc but once you start letting people get weapons, armor and money in game then its "The rich get what they want and the peasants get to die for their amusement." If you think Genesis has the right idea go play there.

That's why I brought it up because Genesis Idea for donations is genius. You wouldn't be forcing people to donate but they would have an idea whats needed. I mean you don't even have to put peoples names or how much they donated, but you could show a meter going up as people donate to show how much is needed for the current month. Only the staff would know who and how much they donated.

This I support, there are sites that list what the cost is each month and how much donations have come in for that month. Doesn't say names or anything so its still anon but knowing the cost without requiring donations would I think make people more grateful and at the same time encourage more people to donate.

I agree, I would also like to see an anon bar that shows how much the server needs every month so that Blue can save a few bucks (he does enough for us already). if it takes about $300 to keep the server Blue-wallet-free then if 300 people donated just a buck every month it be easy, and I know there will be more than 300 people playing this game. Also some are more generous than others, and then there are those that like to top off the donation quota when its nearing the end of the month.

Hell Hojo1 and alita are already paying 8 peoples worth! I know I can spare a few bucks my self.

p.s. make it so the donation bar can overflow!

I'm glad to see the usual discussions erupting around the forums, instead of the pathetic prophets of doom invoking Uthgard's demise. It seems to me a sure sign that the patient is in full recovery. Personally, I'm hyped for "release", and the best thing is, unlike so many other games in the past years: since I already know DAoC, it's impossible to be disappointed!

uthgard 2.0 beta = pvp rule set ?

in terms of getting max people testing, the short term appeal of a classic pvp server might encourage the genesis community to come play instead playing what they've achieved this past year on genesis already and waiting for official uthgard 2.0 release.

If it was a pvp server sure! good test!.. but its not.. thats why you need to rvr test...?!?!?!? comprehende ?!?!

pros and cons, but all accurate 8v8 tests can be planned np. would be easier than ever with several established guilds / grps. u just need them on ur beta server first.

If it's anything like Genesis you wont get over 200 people to test. I remember when they announced it and not that many people came. Then on release BOOM 1.5k(was capped) and server crash over and over. I tested and will test for Uthgard but not everyone will as they wont be as enthusiastic. I hope I'm wrong but we will see because like some have said Uthgard might have 2k+ and that's a lot!
