Albion solo farm class?

Hey,
as I want to start in Albion this time, what do you think would be the ideal farm class (will play it solo most of the time I guess) with patch 1.65? Necro came to my mind first (would probably go for 48 Sight / 23 Servant / 9 Pain for the first str/con pet buff). But what about Cabalist, Friar or maybe even Paladin? What do you think which class would be best at a) quick XP to 50 b) killing high level mobs (DF diamond seals, later maybe some SI drops?) c) as a general farm char for salvage loot, killing yellow/orange quickly and with minimal downtime? d) affordable template (guess necro wins, pala worst) Maybe a bit dumb question, but did not play much on Uthgard before it went down, and on live I played 99% in thid/molvik... Thanks for your help! |

Necro would be best. However as someone who had a 50 Cabby on Uth lemme say solo farming is an awful way to make money. Raids is where its at, DF diamond seals especially.

Yeah, probably more fun too... but things changed, with wife + little child, I won't be able to attend raids that much ![]() Wouldn't a necro be able to farm diamond seals at an ok speed solo? Never played one, back then... |
|
Should be able too however live vs uthgard who knows. The necro may be horribly broken in some way when uth goes live.

I made a fortune with my Paladin, by simply farming Dartmoor mobs and salvaging everything. Of course, takes some time to take down some of the named and normal ones, but it's quite stress free. Even the template is not that expensive, 99% quality plate is enough since you need the melee resists only, that's easy to cap, together with some heat resist for dragon raids and stuff.
You could also use a Friar. Quite effective would be Necromancer with a friend who's playing a Cleric, mass pulling of goblins in Lyonesse is VERY effective. But a Nec pet without proper buffs is quite a pain for farming. Cabalist was a pain too. I tried farming with a Cabalist, but still, the Paladin won over time. Albion Forever!

I believe that Paladin would at least be more fun than necromancer (I love shield tanks!), but on the other hand I find it hard to believe that Pala would be in any way more effective than a necro? (solo, unbuffed, first char so probably no maxed out template). Are you able to take down high mobs (red up to deep purple) with your (unbuffed) pala? |
|
Red, yes. Deep purple, no. But for farming, there is no sense in farming red/purple, takes too long to take them down. Killing quite a few yellow/blue or orange in the same timespan is more effective, lootwise (salvage stuff) Albion Forever!

Yea, Paly can do reds, takes a bit of time but definetly get the job done.
I'd so paly over necro, many different options with the paly. More desirable for grouping and such, he would be all around better choice than the necro imo. |

Reaver Pally duo can farm diamond seals well.
Reaver Pally Theu Trio does it even better, so fast you will clear whole areas.

Important question: Does switching pala auras cost endu? Think it costed endu and on live they changed it some day?
|
|
yes it does |
|
Sure it does cost endurance, but switch your auras in the correct order and you're in for up to 3 styles, if you use reactional combinations, and then you will switch them all again and have maybe one unstyled attack. Depends of course on the speed of your weapon and the type of weapon, since blunt, slash or thrust use different endurance costs per style attack.
Albion Forever!

as blitze explained if you goan farm orange to blue mobs for slavage and Money drop bag(goblins and smilar) caby with ae dot is best
if gona farm on none kiteable place(like dungens) and still goan kil orange to blue mobs tehn sight necro if goan farm anywhere with orange to love purp mobs at a steady spead tehn friar if gona famr high purp mobs you need a shiled tank(pala mostly) with a bufer healer i tend to farm sucubes on df with my friar for dia farming but i prferd to duo with a levi spaming reaver for fast chaining tehm nonestop |

IMO...if you have a cleric "bot", there is no better PVE toon than a Necro.
Of course the class would need to not be broken all to hell, which is a huge question at this point. |
