And now this sad story will even continue AGAIN cuz it is STILL not finished to the point you claimed is the goal : NO SI ? NO working Old Ras ? NO barrels? Hell we got 2 new classes...you will have a hard time telling ppl what you even DID all the time.

P.S. many will hate me for this...but its simple truth and many others thinking about it will come to the same conclusion, NOTHING changed....point :evil:


Not sure what the complaint is here about Old RA. They'll work.

Great news, I didn't expect you to be this far ahead and I figured it would be quite difficult to present a quality SI that the Uthgard Staff would want. Small Rant but please endure.

My question is regarding barrels and Bottles. Would bottles not be sufficient, the only difference between single and bottles is the fact that you are allowed less time to rvr with pots. Yes maybe Barrels are a bit much and allowed players to completely stay in RvR area's like DF for weeks without having to worry about restocking, but Bottles are just a small improvement from single pots that would make the Gaming experience far better as you had to do less Crafting/restocking. I know you want to stay classic, but you also said that if you could improve the experience without completely ruining the classic feeling then you would consider it, well this would be an improvement.

With Bottles on Genesis I still had to restock once a day, but it allowed for a full 4-5hours of game play without even having to consider going to town. Let's be real people who RvR Frequently, will always want to have potions whether its solo or group, but right now you are just restricting their time before they have to leave. This Can cause a chain reaction of negative effects which you might not care about but really bothers me and others. With an already low population of players who RvR at a day to day bases and give that constant action for each realm would it not be beneficial to the server to have at least bottles?

Let's think of the chain reactions, With Old ra's, and single pots I could see frequent unnecessary downtime that might not have happened if players had bottles. Example, A players runs out of potions after they die, so then they decide to head to town waste 10-15minutes to restock (load times, Porters), then once they get back they notice only 10-15minutes left on there powerful RA's like IP, purge, SoS, Bof, Aotg, and more. Now this player decides they might just wait it out, Now you just had a player that because Uthgard only has access to single potions forced to take 30minutes to get back to RvR. This would have been completely different if this so player had Bottles and did not need to restock often after death, which in turn would have caused him to RvR and not wait for RA's because they still had 20+ minutes CD.

Sure not everyone will do this but it will happen and with a small population of players who enjoy RvRing waiting an extra 10-15minutes is fine, but could cause an enemy player who would otherwise been there to fight leave thinking that other player left. I just don't see the point in causing players to leave RvR zones frequently just to have a classic feel. This wont be Genesis where porters are instant, You will have to wait 5-10 mins to port to rvr zones, Sure you could pay but most people would rather wait and it just slows down RvR even more. With an already Old Frontiers you have one more obstacle that must be traversed.

If your going to go so far as implementing a mechanic that allows you to save the same items on your quickbar so you don't have to keep reputing them on the bar, Isn't it the same as implementing bottles because (can't confirm) this mechanic isn't classic like.

The only reason why I would think you are refusing to put bottles on the server is because you are catering to Elite players as they will spend more time to have all buffs while a casual player might miss a few... You are just further lengthening the gap and I'm surprised you are sticking with it. I Will still play with single or bottles but an improvement to my gameplay experience is always welcome.

Keep Endurance pots at 2mins duration, Keep the 1minute CD for instant power/endo pots, Keep timers between charges and pots, But please For the love of god allow us to make bottles at least.... It will INCREASE RvR action..... to think otherwise is dam right foolish and Ignorant....

What about the RA "See Hidden" on Uthgard? Will it be the very first version where assassins could see stealthed archers and minstrels at clipping range?

Bottles (or even live 1.8+ potions) are a 9 or 10x improvement. Not sure I call that small

It will be finally fixed on Uthgard, or there will be again some nasty nerf on it?

I hope so, but you know... i still can't believe that i'll see PL on uthgard till a GM will clearly say so :o

You make it sound like pots are 9x better buff wise, but you still have same cooldowns, values, and durations. Now if you mean a 9x improvement to inventory space then sure I agree. If you say you would RvR 9x more then sure.

If you think it will break certain classes from getting groups like Paladin, then you obviously haven't thought this through because Old Ra's break paladin.... Tireless itself + no det on paladin= useless anyways. You still need shaman for spec buffs, rupt, and they could still do endo. Bard's will always be needed because of CC and speed so their role is not replaceable.

The point is there is no point why not to have 3/6/9 bottles in Uthgard other then it's not classic. Whether or not it improves the experience or not doesn't matter to the staff. From watching Genesis what do we see, even with bottles you still need to restock pots everyday. It would be one other reason for players who like bottles on Genesis to join Uthgard. Potions play a huge part in DAoC and you'd be surprised how people will stay on Genesis just for that....

If you think Pots or Charges could ever replace a Cleric/Shaman/Druid from getting a group then you don't RvR and I say this because I have been told by a GM before that this is the reason. Honestly If someone wants to Solo, They will solo, and If someone runs in an 8man without those said classes then their chances of success are ZERO!
