Exactly the same situation.

What's worse is I am a web developer who was genuinely interested in their opensource UI - with the ability to make custom features etc. How stupid to ask for people to develop when they cannot provide a testing environment unless you pay the 250$.

I made this point clear to them so they suggested I fake the data with random numbers. I personally dont think this was good enough so I never bothered. How hard would it be to set up an extra server for UI development.

Literally so fed up on Genesis.

Never heard of it. Don't see the server listed in the DoL Portal. I'm slightly interested but they don't seem to have any information out about what their server is targeting. Classic? Live? Patch #? Etc.

It ´s nice to see so many ppl still care about daoc and try to get a shard running. This project seems to be very small, if they start with the same crapy version like all the shards did I don ´t give them a big chance to get it up in a good shape very soon. And if they release it in the same bad state like Genesis, it will vanish as fast as it is released, I guess.
Due to the longlasting development of Uthgard, other server won ´t stand a chance to reach it ´s standard. Sad but true, most ppl will prefer to not play daoc instead of wasting their time on a bad shard.

What is really confusing me is the fact, that there is no Daoc 2 planed by EA in all this years. Daoc still has a big community and still many players see it as the best RvR based game. If it ´s made well,- a second part should be pretty sucessful.
