I am pretty sure the radar people used on live could find stealthers cause I remember putting up with that bullshit on my scout. I'd be in the middle of a field stealthed and a group would come out of the distance (clip range) making a straight line to me then uncover me without even having a stealthbot in the group.

It got to where sometimes when I saw them coming I would start casting the sojourner teleport-to-bind spell immediately.

But out of all the time I spent on Uthgard ****** people off, I never saw anything even close to this. And that includes when I was running around unstealthed as well.

Radars could never directly find stealthers, though one of them would give an indication that a stealther was nearby

If this was in Old Frontiers, it's more likely they were running a Ranger or a Hunter in the group with Truesight and you didn't notice. We did that all the time as Hibs and there is no way to differentiate a ranger from a BM unless he pulls out his bow (Hunter would also be pretty hard to tell if he was sword).

Ah, yeah, I had TS on my scout and I loved it but this was in New Frontiers that I'm thinking of. In OF, I do remember getting a guy banned for radar because I appealed him then put my bot way up in the corner of nowhere as bait and his group went straight to him.

This is an equivocation really. They can get you close enough to pop from stealth. At least I've experienced this on live even recently, and people in the know have informed me that this is so.

I just remember this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tuqC5QG7no where it seems it was only possible to detect unstealthed enemies with radar, but I m pretty sure the radar tools got advanced and better by time, In the late game radar wasn ´t a problem on live anymore if I remember right because Mythic developed some options to avoid third tool abuse. And I ´m pretty sure Uthgard staff will have some options too, for detecting and banning such idiots ;-) .

I'm fairly confident the options are there to detect and ban/jail third party abuse as well, and on Uthgard there's no EA shareholder's meetings or $15/mo subscription loss per banned player that reduces the likelyhood someone is actually banned.

Me too. Either they had it under control and could detect it in Uthgard 1.0 or no one on Uth ever tried to use radar. I think the latter is probably unlikely.

Lol, walk it off Kid.

I don't think I'm being ungrateful when I ask for detail. That is not a condemnation of their project nor is it unappreciative for all of the time they have invested in providing a free service. Sometimes a question is just a question.

I dont know if there is a radar what is able to detect stealther.
I only saw a video on youtube where a stealther played with a radar using group.

He stealthed and run to a tree. At the tree he destealthed and the group immediatly run in his direction.
He stealthed again and run to another tree while the group was searching at first tree.
In the moment he destealthed at the 2nd tree the group immediatly run in this direction again.
He made this again and again and everytime the same.

So i think radar isnt able to see stealthed charackters.
But i dont know if there are different radar systems. I never thought about using and so i have no idea :D

I try to find the video and post the link :)

Edit:
havent saw this post before :D
Thats exactly what i talked about :D

Hey! DaoC is now so old as my Grandmas cat
And if i want so much back the old Server Uthgard and it has SI in Itself.
The Origins has it badly but has it... nothing to fear!
But HEY! Look at the Members shorter and shorter and HEY! Isn´t it time to carry DaoC to bed for ever?
For me, if Uthgard so nice as ever before, be so interesting with SI. Its time to bring em to Bed.
I know that not much people be left at Uthgard if the server runs with SI.
Thats Fact ! Sorry for my thinking.
If anyone not on my way plz take anyway... ;-)
