What if the new toy you described was a bunch of pot/weed?

Try to apply this to your analogy, you will understand the constant demand of it :D

Lol. Sorry Caemma, but that is a total fail analogy. Restart and try again please. ;)

Funny how people can be rude when we just put some doubt or criticism in the staff communication.
God, don"t be so radical, ofc it's good to have some news, but in full honesty I'd expected much more, like details on the work done since the last update, or any annoucement about the opening. And it doesn't make me a ****** to think so, it makes you ****** for insulting people who don't agree with you

Lotta rage in here. Why I usually avoid forums.

Kildich calm it down, if you're already a GM you should know this is how it is. If you're not, being their barking dog won't get you any special attention so good grief man put the gun down.

I agree that it's pretty lame not getting real information in an update, but I'm also not invested in this server overmuch so I'm not going to push the issue. I also realize that the devs aren't paid (although anyone who donates should rightfully expect to be in the loop, you paid for it after all--) and therefore we can't expect any sort of "customer service" because we didn't pay for it.

So I'm not mad. If it comes I'll get to play a game I miss with friends I miss equally. If they find another hobby and it goes the way of the dinosaurs, that's fine too. Your show guys, do what you want.

But seriously all you dev ball-hangers cool your jets. EVERYBODY has been on a server forum before and we all know exactly what it sounds like when you're slurping on it, if you follow. People have been waiting a long time and of course there will be some who voice their dissatisfaction. By smashing your face into your keyboard every time you sense a disturbance in the schwartz, all you are doing is letting the rest of us know that 1) you are a deepthroat expert and 2) we should probably ignore what you say because it's nothing of value.

I know what you mean.
But what if he let me borrow his Lego (danes love their Lego), I had build a HUGE fortress, even put my favorite GW miniatures inside it, and was about to siege the fortress.
He now takes it back (fair).
He rolls back what I've done (annoying, but half the fun is building the stuff).
He then says he needs to organize the Lego, and don't know how long it will take.
I keep asking him how much longer it will take, and he puts up a notice on his door telling: "I've put all the red blocks in order".
3-4 months after he is still not done! I keep asking him... and in this time, no response.
When he does respond... it is: "I've still got a thousand blocks to sort".

Could he not have said this 4 months ago? That it would at least be 3 months? From the sound of it, it is likely to take another 3 at least. Could he not have said: "Well... the first 600 blocks took me 3-4 months, so the next 1000 will at least take me 4 months, but blocks are different, so could wary a bit" ???

I know it's his damn toy, but I've thanked him a million time for borrowing it, could he not be nice and tell me when I can borrow it again? Or at least say 3+ months, so I can harras our parents and get some Playmobil (crappy substitude, I know)?

This is like setting up a soup kitchen, and tell the homeless you don't know when it will be ready, but still let them smell the lovely scent steaming from the fans. And then say: "We've set up tables now, but we're not done".

We are sorry, but because we aren't able to have a strict schedule forcing developers to code X hours a week we can't really make estimates based on how long the first 1000 characters of code took.

Our spare time varies, which makes one estimate of release date look impossible to reach one week and easy to reach in another.

We will give you an estimate of a release date when we are certain we can deliver at that date. This estimate of a release date will be posted in our news section.

Now can we please talk like adults to each other? No one in the community benefits from calling each other names.

Thank you
Got any questions? Submit them to me and I will try to get them answered in our grab bag !

Thank you, not the answer I hoped for, but I realize it's likely the best possible.
Saved 4 days of vacation, so please give a short warning before you launch... :P

If I were making something like this for free, the more that people whine and act childish and entitled, the more I would want to not work on it.

Baman,

thats why you are a player or gray-ganker or whatever and not a coder or GM.

and you mistyped above:

it´s "kildich" not "childish" :D

Best regards

Fine then just put the test server up and let the players play on it.

Good enough for me. :P

Players can greatly contribute to a server if you let them.

Uthgard, still the best server. Thanks, Devs.

lordgriffon wrote:Oh by the way... ever seen a group of 8 smite clerics? Or play against a group like that? I have. Absolute devastation. The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!
