It's been nearly half a year since an update.

We should all give up.

I give up.

I gave up.

I still hold a sliver of hope that I am wrong.

I give up.

You should too.

Blue will not make anything new.

checking frontpage for news is fairly clear and obvious I think

if you are really interested in what is planned for Uth v2 see the first page of this post by Nayru > viewtopic.php?f=47&t=33432&p=330373#p330373

cheers

Please show us where the "clear and obvious" place to go here is for everyone that stops in to look for relaunch date information.

Assuming I'm an old player looking at the front page for any word on a release, where exactly should I be looking?

Before all the try-hards start talking about entitlement and all kinds of other fallacious arguments appear, I'm asking a staff member where people like me can come and check for any kind of news at all about release. Release.

As one of the potential players here, it would behoove everyone if we had any idea whatsoever. It could be more than a year away, it could be completely unknown with no possible guess even. This entire time I would like to come here and see if it is coming out in a few weeks/months and prepare for that, or if its very likely to be longer then fine.

People are going to want an ETA, and you can be snide and talk about how nobody deserves such a thing. You can be angry at them for their audacity, or whatever - people are going to come by here anyway. Why would you choose not to be proactive about that if something is creating such a nuisance for you? This just angers reason. It's just bizarre. The only remaining explanation is that people enjoy being like that to other people and others are satisfied when they see another interested player drop by and ask what quarter of what year to play here, and the only remaining members in this cesspool start the circle jerk rudeness. It's pathetic. Stop being douchebags to people that want to play with you. Kindergartners learn this. There is no defense for such an attitude.

Having been in the past in a small group of people actively polishing a product for the good of humanity and a product we weren't planning on making money off of, I beg to differ and believe you have a skewed perspective. You speak of the only explanation but do not understand the mindset that drives people to do something nice for everyone. They are not on your timetable, they are trying to make a quality product. Without your help. They are actively seeking other people to help them with this project, but want serious people who can commit at least 10 hours per week to this project, and I'm guessing many of them spend more like 30-40 hours on various aspects of this game. I see the link where they want more help here: http://uthgard.net/about/58 but I don't see your name where they list who is helping here: http://uthgard.net/about. If you love what they are doing you will stick around.

...I think you might just be baiting me...but in case you really can't find the spot where updates would appear: the frontpage has a heading saying "Update....", I am sure thats the space where you will find information on a launch date once its available

Another response missing the point entirely. This has nothing to do with "me want now!" and everything to do with "Hey guys, just dropping by for the latest word on an ETA." The straw man arguments like these just keep coming out; I never said a word about how they need to hurry up, or that they aren't working hard/long enough - it has clearly all been about communication and improving on the situation of players coming here in several threads asking the same question. Some want to white knight and rush in and tell everyone just how much they aren't contributing. Seriously, this is like the 5th straw man I've had to deal with because everyone is so eager to jump in front of any criticism, no matter if it is well argued. More doses of non sequiturs and straw men seems to be the best most of you can come up with, which just reinforces my original point: this type of behavior (being D-bags to players asking for ETA) is indefensible.

At some point along the way you missed that I'm clearly talking about an ETA update area where everyone can easily access when they drop by to see if there is an update to the ETA. This isn't complicated, I don't understand the confusion. I worded above very carefully and clearly to find out where to click to find this information. You responded with something other than a way to get this information. I guess the "clear and obvious" place to go is so clear you just see right through it?

How are people not able to distinguish and comprehend what is being asked for here? Stop being Douchebags to people dropping by and asking for the latest word on a relaunch. Staff can create even 1 sticky that they edit with the latest ETA information. That's it, and it solves problems on both ends. So far, all the people that wish to continue being douchebags haven't met the burden of proof to justify their D-bag attitude. They want, on some level, to not prevent it from happening. They want to be able to be asses to people asking the question for some bizarre reason. Their justification apparently goes as follows:

Me: Hey, you guys should stop being cunts to people that drop by. It's probably bad for the whole environment and potential.
Dbag: They deserve it because its clearly posted on the front page area."
Me: "Where at exactly? Show me on this picture please."
Dbag: "You are such an entitled little ****** brat!!!"

Grow the hell up.

It appears people are just ******, and actually enjoy it. If it was purely a hassle and had no utility to them, they would embrace something to take the reoccurring nuisance of answering the same question over and over away instantly. As of yet, none of them have shown any interest in that solution, nobody for that matter. What does that tell you? Those of you who are the D-bags can try and bring up all kinds other things like how great the devs are, or how ****** entitled brats are. None of it justifies your rude behavior. You don't justify bad behavior (being a ******) by pointing to other bad behavior ("those entitle brats have no right to ask for an ETA!").

Stop being assholes and grow up. There is no person you chase away that will benefit this server. If you give a damn about it and the developers and moderators here that are busting their ass on it, you're damaging their legacy by chasing away the very few players that give this old forum any traffic at all. Learn how to act as an adult in a community like everyone else, and respect people so they respect you back. It isn't very hard at all, and requires much more effort to be such asses.
