Yes, it is in process, and yes, we should be hopeful. If I have learned anything from my correspondence with the GM's, it is that they are passionate about preserving DAOC, hence we should try to chip in even during this downtime with donations for the cost of the server.

This server does not live without its constituents.

And as always: I AM NOT A GM!!!!.

Too much drama here guys......

They just forgot to write news for 3 months, after promoting a revamp with quite good impatience, so it's not a big deal right!!!11 :o
There was a time when Uthgard 1.0 existed and maaaany toons and arrpees arose... but now:

Looking into threads like this is like to have a smelly finger. You can´t keep yourself from taking a second sample.

Nice to hear Uthgard isn ´t dead yet but that doesn ´t mean it will be back soon or in the future at all. Being cautious saves from many disappointing experiences, I hope the server will have a future, we ´ll see, patience is an important skill of Uthgard players these days.

@ people with that RL flames trolling attempts, you waste your time to read this forum and post your degenarated bulls**t of brainless void, your rl must be quite decent I guess :gaga: .

CONCERNS:

Genesis = SI+Old RA and pop never gets over 300 anymore.

Uthgard = SI+old RA and the pop?

I seriously think SI is too much and while I'm not a fan of old RA, okay, whatever.... but SI I think is too much.

Don't blame the Genesis population on SI+Old RA. It was their own idiocy that did them in.

Well before there was no SI, so Tajendi did a good job in my opinion on enanching the PvE side.. maybe some items/bosses where too much rare/hard to get, so that made someone QQ about some OP items (especially because you were almost forced to have them to compete <-- real problem).. but frankly i liked the concept of Tajendi/Temple and the possibility of *new* custom lands, than what i already knew from Live..
I would make tons of amazing new maps/concepts if only the editor was open to use :roll: (even for rvr/bg purposes!)

I personally loved Tajendi (though I never was able to be a part of the end boss raids since my computer at the time sucked balls), but I get why the instance model does not work well in an MMORPG.

If there are custom features on Uth 2.0 that are going to drop high end items, they should IMO be accessible the same way a dragon or legion raid is: within the construct of the land. Any custom levels or events should yield solely items that are for adornment, or possibly titles to be earned, and won't affect combat disparity down the road. One time "uber items" are just bad for the player base confidence, since they either are unobtainable, or cost enormous amounts of time and money to buy them.

As an aside note, trophies are a great yield for events. It would be cool even for some custom art work to be done designing new trophies for mobs that weren't available on Uth 1.0 (though this is just wishful thinking I know, Blue;).

I would be partial to having Taj back, if it yielded trophies and other trinkets/titles, instead of 1337 items. And lets be honest; we all loved the taj 1 cloak, so its not unfair if we make that quest available to all players who play.

I know there will be pundits who disagree, as the majority of HC Uth fans want to just RVR. But the reality for you HC DAOC PVP lovers is that, "You Need Us". And by "US" I mean, we, the PVE lovers, the crafters, the re-rollers. We support the HC PVP peeps. If we aren't here, no items get farmed, leveling is terrible, and we aren't there for easy rps when we decide to RVR. I think a balance can be struck up on Uth 2.0, one that doesn't cause such a class disparity. Lets respect each others interests, because frankly, many different reasons call us to this game. But because we are all here together, finding out a way to work together and become a true community of Uthgardian's is the only way we don't see history repeat itself.

Ive been reading you for a bit now, and i have to say that I really appreciate all of your posts.

We, the community, active or not, needs some players like you to promote the server and keep and good atmosphere for everyone.

You perfectly target the key elements here, players are complex, have different aims and motivation but they should be able to communicate and understand each other. Its the same for every society and its the only way to keep it sustainable.

So for your efforts and comments, thank you.

Back to the topic, glad to see some active GMs (posts and pictures), it was really needed during this long uthgard break. :oops:

I think we all miss the real stuff and I really hope that if the server comes back, the population will be there too and thankful for the great work.
