This has been touted for some time now, without exact details. From my memory, group bonus isn't that large, and so mentioning this seems a disingenuous way of implying Uthgard's experience will be noticeably better than before.

So for example, you kill a creature, it may look something like:

You have killed pygmy goblin! You have been rewarded with 88,237,102 experience (2,300,219 group bonus)!

So pretend the group bonus was wrong by 20%, then the group bonus will now be 2,760,000, and the total experience increase is 0.5%. Not even worth typing about. However, this is purely an example, and the group bonus may be higher.

Can you be more concrete with how much of an experience gain this change will be, from one full group to a full group with new formula?

Can we get a comment on this, please?

Group bonus is not the matter here, it was correct. I'm curious why you think the group bonus had the problem. XP dealing between group members of different levels is more a topic. Plus camp bonuses which were improperly implemented. That can have a huge influence on overall XP rate.

But that means that instead of 6-7 days played to get 50 we will need 5-6? Thats nto a great improvement. And probably will disuade players to play here since in origins u can reach lvl 50 in 2 days played.

Imho spend 6 days played on reach lvl 50 is so dumb, and plz dont come with sentences like "it helps you to learn your class and game mechanics" when most of us here were playing this game for 10y or more. 90%, maybe more, of actual daoc players knwo the game mechanics very ncie.

So it could be great that GMs talk about this and take a clever option, otherwise when uthgard 2.0 comes live , if origins is already stable and playable will get a silly amount of ppl, cose we all are adults now, and most of us dont have lot of time to wate leveling once and again.

Thx

I have to no many time but i wannt Dark age of Camelot and not I Wish Easy age of Camelot ..... in 2 days 50 is not big diffrent to instant 50 . You need long xp time for nderstand the charakter most of guys/girls begin with daoc on Uthgarits to hard for them and when the dont have time to see what the class can and how to play it then they are losted in RvR

I can't speak for everyone, but the lack of proper progression on origins is what dissuaded me and my guild from playing there seriously. Ya, ya, I know.. daoc is all about rvr end game blah blah blah, spare me. I hate the fact that you can hit 50 on origins in 2 days without ever getting a single drop, and only visiting the trainer 3 or 4 times.

I just leveled a new mentalist to 40 on origins/genesis in a day with no items, and xp was coming in so fast I didn't even bother training except a couple of times my party wiped in a dungeon. Theres just no reason to stop the ez xp train to to upgrade abilities when even with spells/styles 20 levels out of date, you still get levels every 15 minutes in a good spot.

Sorry, thats just stupid and keeps me from taking the server seriously for the same reason no one takes i50 servers seriously. I know its not for everyone, but the secret of MMOs is to always provide players with something to accomplish, ie, bars to fill. RvR is fun, but sometimes I just need a break and having no other aspect of the game thru which to progress means I'll be logging off to find something else to do.

DAoC reaches its fun level at 50 (for me), However having a somewhat long grind to 50 makes my character worth more to me. If you go out, work hard, and spend lot's of time catching your own food it will taste that much better when you eat it. As to if it was fed to you in your bed just isn't the same.

I am not voting for hard leveling, I would be happy with something in-between .

will people really come back to Uthgard? ...and if so for how long? I think it is admirable as far as a nostalgic standpoint goes but aside from glaring miscalculations in the retail version (like TOA) much of the changes in retail were made to balance the game...old RAs weren't balanced, just for example old BOF (x2 in groups) and SOS those were very overpowered which is why they were modified and distributed...

...also sticking with old frontiers? 90% of pvp takes place in one area (emain)...new frontiers added so much to rvr...I just think it is a big mistake to stick with the limited RVR of the original game...

...not that my opinion is worth much and not that it would make any difference even if it were but I for one wish you would have chosen to take all the good things from the retail and just simplified it by just eliminating all the added crap from TOA, etc...that were the things that people didn't like...instead of choosing to recreate the original game that still had a ton of balancing issues...

regardless I still wish you well and thank you for the enjoyment I had while I played here...thanks

How long, no one knows, but are people really coming back? Yes, definitely.

A new classic DAoC server appealed to me and a lot of my old guildies from numerous other games. Apparently 2,000+ other players were also interested, because origins has been filled to maximum capacity every day for a month, with tons of bugs, broken content/features, crashes, rollbacks, and horrible overall stability. Right now people are chomping at the bit for a chance at a classic DAoC experience thats stable. Everyone I've talked to is ready to jump ship today, and even though I feel for Cody and the Origins team, the fear that they'll never get things stable in a timely fashion seems to be an opinion shared by all.

If uthgard staff is able to strike while the iron is hot and get this thing up and running soon, I wouldnt be surprised to see their server have 2k+ concurrent users on day 1.

The last thing that the DoL project needs is yet another i50 (or practically i50) server. If all you really want is end-game RvR, the other non-Uthgard servers cater to this group very well.

No, just No!

Exp rate will be "slower " then genesis but it will also be faster then previously on Uthgard.

People xpin in full groups/guildgrps still gonna be 50 days/weeks before average Joe at relaunch.
What you wanna do? Make those ppl not be able to log on every third day so you can catch up?

Ppl are not drooling and solo kills blue mobs to 50 anymore, you wanna nerf xp so it fits your distorted view of classic? Your selfishness is disgusting.

Those that wanna rush ahead and get 50 are gonna do it regardless.

2 days to reach level 50 in Daoc is i50. That sucks. As many people stated here before, the character is worth much more to you when you have to grind it to the glory. You get some drops, meet new people etc, learn your class. If it would take 2 days like in Origins than in no time it would be elitist action @ emain. Only known people get groups and the new instant 50's will just chill doing nothing. Pve is part of Daoc and i find it great, i love the raids and i do enjoy the exping part aswell. At the moment it took ~ 30-45 days to reach level 50, if played semi-regularry. Id like in Uthgard 2.0 that it would take ~15-30 days to reach 50.

If you are looking for fast lvl 50, than uthgard isnt the server for you

Thank you for clearing it up. So nomad groups will gain more experience, because the creatures they kill will have camp experience, whereas stationary groups will not gain XP quicker.

So, people that grind on hulks won't notice XP gain.
People that are near same levels won't notice XP gain.

Therefore, it seems like the XP gain won't be significant, and in many user's experience, not at all different.

Oh dear. I can see all these groups which think the same. "Come on, lets run 10 mins to another great Spot for max camp bonus!" :P

Only thing i wish to know: How is Avalon City implementet? 1.65 like without 424324324 Archermobs, or is it implementet like it is now on live?

No, power groups realize that stationary XP gain is better over-time than roaming. Therefore, the fastest leveling on Uthgard will be no faster than it was before. People are fantasizing that it will be faster, when in fact it will not.

Hm, I would like an official statement coming from the admins regarding the presence or not of buff shears. I mean, it would be a custom add to the server for sure, but I can't imagine playing a druid without them.
