I can tell you, Uth had a bug in XP dealing which made it harder than live. All will be fixed on relaunch.

Why cant we have more news like this , Maybe have a daily news thread from the gm's telling us players how the server is going, I'd like this and I'm sure many other would too :D. Also Lock it so only staff can post!

Updates will come periodically. The more we post, the less we're working. In case you havent noticed how quiet we've been :D

i understand you can't wait to play new uthgard, but also staff can't write every day something like:

greetings, we keep on working!
greetings, another day is gone and the launch is closer!
greetings, we're working for you!

A bot could do that for the staff... would take this audience at least a week until they notice. So a week free of stupid questions, flames and crackbrained suggestions for improvement. :D

I assume they're getting the boring stuff out of the way first (Defense penetration, etc.) so a daily update wouldn't be needed. :P

did you reserch catapult/trebuchet leveling aswell? remember vividly best way to xp from 5-24ish was to built a trebuchet and kill lvl milbs in hibernia (lvl20ish mobs) . they died in one shot and gave cap xp untill they turned yellow as a solo with siege ;)

Having leveled several chars in classic to 50, I call BS on this. Uthgard felt pretty live-like. Do you have proof of such a charge?

It sounds like an excuse to make the server have faster XP, because Uthgard only follows live-like (allegedly).

Camp bonus never worked correctly on Uthgard for starters. Rather than depreciating over respawns, it was a one shot and out deal. Most of this disadvantage was offset by xping in areas with large camps or that held significant xp bonuses.

Uthgard had an XP bug in the gap between levels within a group. This was seen by some players as done on purpose to make it difficult to power level your friends. I think it was just a bug and won't be in Uth 2.0

Let me tell you that I as developer can see how my code works and how it was intended to be. And no, it did not work as intended. The XP calculation for large level differences in groups had a mistake in the formula. That implementation was made like 10 years ago and wasn't touched since then. I have to admit that it wasn't tested properly. There were some more problems with the XP formula but they should be gone on relaunch.
