I did not see this coming after just 10 days of competition.

A weak decision taken in frustration and desperation for keeping player numbers. All history from live servers show that a fresh server attracts attention but after a while it settles and people play on all the servers again.

So you might get initial 1500 players on opening after a wipe, but where are you then after a month? Half a year? Eleven years? Are you going to wipe again?

With this step you have ultimately showed the players that nothing is sacred, the very fundamental idea of having a progressed saved is what makes a mmorpg and you are going to destroy that.

You should not close this NEW server.
I know you CLAIM this server has been around since 2003. I never seen it before 2 months ago.
I find it very hard to believe that this server is that old. I looked for DAoC emu a few years ago and there was none.
I quit DAoC in about 2003, due to all the hacks Mystic refuse to go after.
I think you have a good basic here that you need to work on.
I don't know what the deal is with not allowing a 2nd account in PVE, you should do this. I ran a 2nd account on live from Oct 2001 till I left. The benefits to this is it allows low chars to transfer their items to their other low chars. It allows a person to craft. And it allows a person to get to lv 50 easier. Because lets face it this game really starts at lv 50.
I really think it messed up that I had to level up again period. All because Mystic is ate up. On live I had a LV 50 hunter, shaman, warden and druid before Christmas 2001. I also had maxed crafters in both realms by end of Jan 2002. It was very hard for me to start from lv 1 again when I started on this server. I played a SM so I could get to lv 50 and start making money so I could play. Well I got to lv 40.5 when you decided to restart your new server. So I am to start over again? No, not a chance. If I have to relevel I will not be back.
BTW news from Origins. I started there AFTER you decided to close the server. That server stinks. It is crashing all the time. with less then 500 people on it. Don't believe the BS they are saying on their website. At this time it says server linit 1300and they have a 2nd server. Don't believe it. It has been 8 hours since I was finally able to make an account (been trying to make one since yesterday with Uthgards announcement) well in that time I have been able to be on for about almost 2 hours, most of the time stuck in lag. I am a big level 3. Yeah the XP you heard of nope same crummy xp as Uthgard, just you also crash and lag.
So closing the server is a mistake. People will be back. But you will lose people if they have to relevel.

Also please check the forum for the last year, we have had a lot of people asking for a wipe. Uthgard only needed a few changes to close down Origins but instead you think about wiping it all. Cowards!

You had/have the possibility to make a great server even as it is now. The people who qq about RR10-12 groups are gonna qq again when the groups are rr8 and the others still are rr3.

By closing uthgard somethin like 2 or 3 month they give more Origin credit ... stupid as hell
