Thinking of Getting Started

I am thinking of getting started playing here. I have played DAOC for a very long time to say the least. I have read a few post on what hibs 8 man groups are running and I think the characters that most interest me are Bard/Warden/BM. Back when I first played DAOC the best leveling setup was a mana enchanter to pet pull, mana ment for hot/power/dot, and druid to buff. Should I make those classes to help level one of the classes I intend to play or help farm money for it? I can run 3 accounts between my main computer and a labtop. Are there buff bots here for RvR? I have been looking at a character planner to see what spec I would go as I like to plan ahead and I am unsure of how hard or if respec stones exist. The specs I where considering where:
Warden 39blade 46nurture 26heal BM 50CD 50Blade 28parry Bard 37Music 43Nurture 33Regrowth Am I speccing these classes right? Should I just attempt to make 3 accounts and level them as a group? I appreciate any help, thanks in advance |

Buffbots aren't allowed here so you'd have to level them one by one if you wanted. Only character I'm familiar with out of those 3 is BM and the usual spec is 39 Pierce 42 Shield 50 CD with the rest into Parry.
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt [3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck

a pretty accurate charplaner can be found here: http://nixianplay.com/index.php?page=charbuilder
don't dual log or buffbot. this will result in a permanent ban for you buffbot and a timed ban for you main char. please read the rules very closely: http://uthgard.net/rules anyway you have to level them seperatly or get a friend to play with |

Thanks for the link to the rules page, are my specs for the Bard and Warden okay? do people group wardens for 8v8?

atm warden are welcome to rvr grp (but not so much as BMs and Bard).
With Old RaS and more 1.69 downpatch issues (nor more Cure Disease for wardens) i guess we will be see less wardens in hib grps. So i would say most needed and welcome to (pug!)rvr grps: Bard Druid BM/Eld Hero. (in that order) |

Wait a few weeks before you start on uthgard. Exping will be more fun with a bigger playerpool.

Your Bard spec is typical of an RvR spec. Also works for PvE, its how mine is spec'd.

warden final spec is fluid b/c the class has utility problems. Thats why you are not getting any feedback on warden spec. The spec you have is a solid hybrid. 1/2 dozen of one, 6 t'other to 45 nurt and increase parry that much more. Other ward spec to look at would be:
Support group- 33Reg/49nurt/25(21 or 29)blade. Useful for emain with full resists, decent healing, and mono rupt +snare. More a back up healer and a bit or def tank with side snare to help peel pets. Relies heavily on AOtG and TWF to actively help group the most b/c power pool and cast times for heals are comparatively limited. Groups dont see the the effectiveness of red resists, or red bubble as they are not active in a showy way. Also a base buffer that generally more likely to stay alive or in range (buffs up) longer than 1st target bard. As with the other spec, you'll want to have serenity 2 to keep up with the red bubble power drain. Casting group bubble before hand and only turning it on during fights ofc. Solo PvE/task/pvp- 16reg/38nurt/50blunt, sacrificing alot of utility for the nice 50blunt stun style. Coupled with low(ish) endo blunt styles and twisting, you can fight longer than others, with even a decent dps. Long fights mean you'll be able to stun once, wait for their purge and immun to run down and stun again to pop AOtG to hopefully finish. maybe.... Aside from Aotg, you'll want to have more passive RAs to increase dps such as MoPain Aug str Just my opinions/ideas, not a pro-warden at all. Mine is retired =D after thid. |
