hi everyone

today i hade the best rvr experience ever

i play hib so here is the story

first we go and we got smashed bby hordes of mids. Then albs show up with eaven more and those 2 realms battle it out. Then reinvorcements arive for hib (nkblade figtherdruid zapzerap...).we won a few battles but then mid return with eaven more ppl and toast us .then suddenly alb show up with huge army and kill both realms.then mid and hib got more ppl and they fought again winning alb dunno why bt alb dont come again.then there was a long battle between hib and mid and finnaly i needed 2 log out but being a hib player i think hib won.

i got in braemar 1200 rps and about 300 kills .

So thx 2 all u who died figthing and who was victorios at times

being 50 without doing any rvr before and you ll be free RPs.

you need to practise in BG. till you just spam pets and dont move anymore, i think you have to stay in bg to learn how to play.

if you arrive in emain with an epic armor and not any knowledge about rvr and group tactics, you'll get insta kill and rekill and you'll certainly feel sad about losting so many time in leveling without having real fun.

so BG are nice. if you haven't a good experienc of daoc, practise in braemar wilton and thid. there are already enough noobs level 50.

imo, braemar, wilton and now thidranki is not about 'learning'. why? simple: you can turn xp and rp off... why? if you're done in braemar you leave, it's that simple, if you're lvl 30 and not yet rr2 and you really want rr2 before leaving, do it the oldfasioned way... suicide on mobs, loose your xp on purpose.

bg's are no longer a transition stage for new players and new chars, they've become replacements of emain, it used to be so that in the bg's you tried to get as much rp's as possible before you were unable to continue, now you just stay as long as you want, chars that could've been in emain months ago are still in braemar... xp/rp off, running around with 'master soldier' title. after braemar you got wilton, same story, just the as in thidranki.

bg's are fun and easier compared to emain, but here it's just way too easy, i say, if you want to stay to get rr2, suicide before you lvl, if you want to stay after gaining rr2, start a new char. how are new players supposed to learn about rvr if braemar is overpopulated with chars that got nothing more to gain there than killcount and have been especially designed to function as good as possible at lvl 30 (luri NS's jump out of mushrooms like lepricons, theurgists spawn more pets than the server spawns mobs on reboot, shamans dot&run, etc) while other players who do have the intention to lvl through to lvl 50 with a more allround or basic class such as basic melee classes who lack their main abilities at lvl 30.

as long as you can turn off xp and rp at will, emain will be under populated and bg's will mainly be for those who abbandoned emain for them.

dont ever use the words battlegrounds and learning in the same sentence again, the 2 have nothing in common anymore.

if you want proper rvr, remove the xp and rp off commands, or at least the rp one, so there's a bigger flow of chars through the battlegrounds and into emain.

I learned almost everything about daoc rvr I had to learn in the battlegrounds.
it's a fact.

of course the time I had without expoff was long enough.

If I read your post Isador , I would bet you only read the first and the last two sentences of Luv's one ...

Ofc you learn a thing or two in the BG, but I dont see anyone moving on to Emain...
You dont have to get 2000 kills in Braemar to learn something,
Just capturing the keep once and go cruise a bit is enough, then lvl up and move on.
I truly agree with Luv, BG's are more of a replacement than a boot camp for Emain ....

i learned a lot in BG too...

i have played daoc only on uthgard. so i learned the rvr in BGs at begining when emain was not implemented.(you can call RVR the fights in DF)

so yes, BG are needed for learning. when i have to practise with a new char i do in braemar cause you can do lot of mistakes you won't make the other realms stronger.

when we have to train in group with new guild mates, it s in braemar. when i see new people on the server leveling the faster as possible to 50. and when they ding 50 they are totaly unuseful and will never learn anything cause in emain it's too late.

yeah maybe you have already some skillplay but if you play a char maybe more difficult you ll need to practise. playing a stealther is not very difficult and usually if you do mistake, it s your problem. but if you have to play a char more difficult as sorcerer cleric caba... you ll have to practise.

and if some wanna stay in braemar for a long time why not... you learn skillplay. after 3 years i still have a lot to learn

well u ask ureself why so many chars are still in breamer well how about that point

it sucvks ass 2 lvl ALONE and yes when ure 46 u still have a nice bg because in MID thats my opinion emain with this people sucks because they really think to high from themselfes there was this one time when a fg mids was in emain and some of them (2) were 46 we lost and almost all the 50 said " low grp no chance and ****** off after 2 mins ... they dont even see that they just suck so ****** much in rvr furthermore they are just real assholes ..... (mollo) not all of them but many and 4 me thats one of the reason why i personally dont have any motivation 2 get my chars on 50 also its really hard on my own because there are no lvl grps

And WHY are there no lvling groups ?
Why lvl when you can stay in Oh So Beautifull Braemar ?
I have nothing against people playing in BG's, I just hate it when they stay in braemar longer than necesary...

Learn what you need from Braemar and move on
You still have lots of chances to learn in the other BG's
Its not like you get 50 in two days after you leave braemar >.<
