ForumDaoc Portal repeated Crash upon start

Hi Everyone!
I recently installed Daoc from scratch using the "how to connect" guide, i followed all the steps, and tried to start the Daoc Portal. However as it starts up it crashes as soon as the small updater window appears, it says connect.exe and then the whole portal crashes, only to find it starting again by itself 1 second later, and then it cycles like this until i CTRL ALT DEL and stop the program from there. I tried reinstalling it 3 times and still no success, i would very much like to play again if someone can help me get the game started. Kind Regards J |

Try to right click daocportal and choose "Run as administrator"

tried that also, doesnt work, tried moving the whole folder to another place, tried rebooting the PC, doesnt work mate

i can also add that if i look at the folder as the crash/start cycles are active 2 files in the folder are disappearing/appearing as the cycle continues.

Unfortunately theres no error message mate
The sequence is following : Right click daoc portal Run as admin Program serverlist/login page appears Updater window appears with connect.exe in the info field And then boom, program crashes and simply shuts down only to find it self doing the same thing 1 sec later The whole process from run as admin to crash takes about 1.5 seconds |

Make sure you install .NET 3.5 properly and maybe also try installing .NET 4.
What I also suggest would be to use an installation folder which is not on drive C. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.
