Besides just learning to play better, what advice if any can you give?
I have tried both group RAS and Solo RAs (currently) Seems have a hit a wall on him, RR5+ Scouts beat me down solo and groups despise me running Det 3 in Emain but I really don't see giving up IP 2 for Det 4. Have not had much success running solo fully potted and charged lately, and my group play has been sub par. Not a QQ seriously seeking some input from the Uthgard gurus. Fighting rr 8+ groups I feel like a wasted spot thus stumping my growth on a character that I do like. ![]() ![]() |

At low RR you gotta decide if You want to go grp or solo. I would never grp you with det3.
And btw even for solo rvr at your RR its quite a bad choice to spec ip2. So if you want grp rvr go Det5, lw1 or det4, charge2, lw1. |

Find an active RvR guild for grp play.

Thanks for replies. My guild is active I just have been sucking. Any pros cons to det 5 >< Det 4 Charge 2 ?

a solo BM just isn't going to cut it in most fights.
YES you can solo as a BM, but you don't have those excellent soloing tools like Stealthers, Speed classes and shamans (lol, they NEVER die). If I were you, I would dust off my shoulders, realize that yeah at low RR you aren't going to be uber but you are NOT a wasted slot in a group. The BM's are the main DPS of Hibernia and all you need is to assist train or interrupt a main healer/caster (depending on what is needed). Regardless of your RR you do serious dmg. |

Same story here, but different solution.
I skipped 50 cd for 50 shield and went def with det 5 and mob instead of pain. Also, i am mainly searching for duo with a bard or smallman groups since bm itself and the def spec work very good in this setups. You can win some time with your guard until bard/druid gets out of mezz, or guard the bard to unmezz, or kite/guard with the caster, or, or, etc. The r5 ability grants you almost slam immunity which also is very handy for guarding. Ofc you don't deal uber dmg but its quite ok even with 42 CD. In fg however, no matter what you spec, you are a weak spot. det 4, charge 2 is good for first round, but after charge runs out you eat cc if the fight isn't over till then which is very likely cause of at least 1 DI running. Single mezz/root even hurts with det 5, not to mention on det 4. Also, with this spec, you should consider you don't seem to run in a requiem-like squad where you prolly can coordinate the use of each bm's charge but mainly randomish grps. I'd problly stick to det 5 even as dps until you can afford charge additionally. /edit lol @ soloing |

imho there is a group bm and a small man bm
group bm is all about dps so he/she specs 50cd, 33 blades, 33 blunt, 33 pierce, 6 parry. DPS machines don't need to be slamming, that's the hero's job. small man = 42 shield, 50 cd, 34 (your choice of weapon), 20 parry gives you slam for prot. group AND max dps in one weapon type. Obviously a duo/small man you need to be versatile (offense/defense). |

A grp bm without Slam is pure crap |
