In my opinion, sorcerers and theurgists are the most useful AND most hilarious casters in Albion. Both of those are viable for late-game RvR too (hardly any successful group will run without at least one of each).

Sorcerers are fun because of stupid amounts of CC and rupting potential, theurgists because, well... pets! Great for rupting, lots of utility depending on its spec (most late-game theurgists will be spec'd for earth because of the PBT).

Thank you for your feedback. I have been messing around with a cab only lvl 10 but the dots seem pretty brutal. I think maybe Sorc and Theurg have more potentional?

DoTs in RvR are usually just mezz breakers. Cabalists are great PvE farm chars and probably the fastest Alb class to level (solo, optionally with a cleric and/or sorc). The way you'd want to spec it for RvR groups is completely different from the usual matter spec however (you'd go either body or tri-spec).

Weren't you complaining about the relic hoppers last time Albion had them?
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> You have to be a c*** to be awesome at daoc
[3:10pm] <myrmidon^> that's what I learnt
[3:11pm] <Frosty_> then why does austerim suck
lordgriffon wrote:Oh by the way... ever seen a group of 8 smite clerics? Or play against a group like that? I have. Absolute devastation. The group that runs up against them can't kill them fast enough because smite clerics have sooooooo many tools at their disposal combined with decent ranged damage with 8 of them dudes doing it!

Ordered from most fun (IMO) to the least.

Cabalist - So many toys, always busy. (Similar to an Eldritch if you played one)
Difficulty: High
Groupability: Generally Welcomed

Sorcerer - Almost CC-Immune, always busy with CC/Interrupt/Demezz.
Difficulty: Moderate
Groupability: Always Invited

Wizard - Just for LoL's
Difficulty: "Meh"
Groupability: Uninvited unless it's Zerg-Warfare

Theurgist - LoL Pets
Difficulty: Easy
Groupability: Usually Invited

Sorry for posting slightly offtopic.

Maybe i am doing something wrong, but i play both classes and Cabalist feels way easier for me.
1. You can prekite on inc/normally kite in the fight, which makes it easier to handle tanks and allows easier positioning in general.
2. You just have to care about the enemies. You dont have to check your grp-window permanently and it is not as crucial to be in 1,5k range of your grpmembers for demezzing.

if clipping range would be livelike, speed6 groups vs speed6 groups could actually kite before bumping into themselfes ;-)

clipping range radius on live is way beyond 6000 locs (now on live, they changed it at a point but not documented)

atleast in SI-times 3300 locs radius was shown for the own client
