Random Disconnects

For the past month I have been having completely random disconnects while playing DAOC. They may appear 1 minute apart, or 2 hours apart. I know it is not my internet connection / router because other things still work (movies, loading other web pages, etc...) It is only Uthgard.
Anyone have any clue why this is happening or how I can fix it? Very frustrating when trying to group or RVR. Thanks for your time. Cheers,

Where are you playing from? It might be related to latency issues (i.e. your ping being too high, thus your account being logged out because of ping timeouts).
Assuming you play on Windows, try the following:
The -t flag causes the ping to repeat until cancelled by keystroke (Ctrl + C). Just leave it running and see if the return times "spike" at all. I'm not sure what the timeout limit is on the server, but you might be able to discover a pattern (for example, exceptionally high pings when you disconnect). |

I have been keeping track of my problem. I have restarted my router numerous times. Apparently, I am completely losing all internet connection randomly (anywhere from 20min intervals to 2 hours). When this happens, I get the response "Request timed out" until my internet returns.
I am using Windows 7, and when these "blackouts" occur I get a little yellow warning picture over my internet connection. However, when I troubleshoot problem it just tells me to restart the router by unplugging it. I'm thinking this may be a faulty router? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this makes games like DAOC almost unplayable. Thanks for your time. Cheers,

My guesses would be:
Judging from the error message, I'm not certain whether you're actually losing your connection to the router or the router is losing its connection to the Web. In any case, can you access your router's logs? If so, you could send me the logs and I could try figuring out what exactly is happening. |

I've had the same problem and I never did in the past. It started acting up this month for some reason.
