Hi guys,
I realized something that went a bit strange to me with my leg. spellcrafter, tried to overcharge an item with 4x99% stones 1% Chance to explode. After 10 attempts with fail to Combine, I decided to make it like I did at live Server... first put 3 gems on, Combine and then put on the fourth one and I exploded.. ok bad luck I thought. Ok, recrafted item and stones in rage... item 99% 3x99% Stone and one masterpiece stone - chance to explode 0% overcharge success: 33% . Failed to Combine it again and again, did it like before, put the 3 stones in first and combined with item, after that place the masterpiece stone at last to combine. But then System says: 9% overcharge success 36% Chance of items loss (explode) how is that possible? 3x99% Stone and a 100% Stone? Impossible... I broke into sweat but after 4 Fails it was combined. The only way is, the system forgot I already had 3 99% stones on the item combined before. That would be different to live settings because there it was usual to first place 3 stones first and the Chance to explode was still the same, depending on Quality of the stones. Or am I wrong about that? I ll just put on all 4 gems together from now on. |

sometimes i have 30 and more fails to combine thats sadly normal on Uthgard -.-

Yes, you're wrong. However, maybe it has been changed now on live so you're wrong for Uthgard. If you put a gem in a crafted item, it won't give you a bonus anymore when adding another gem. It worked like that on live some years ago. So the 3x99% in your item were considered as no-bonus gem, that is to say 94% quality ones, when you have put the last one. 3x94% + 1x99% = 100% chance to explode. On top of that, spellcraft is harder than it was on live, even with 1.69 version. It reproduces the theorical chance to success (and explode) of the calculator that Mythic had put on their site. And this calculator was always false, more pessimistic than "reality" ingame. RIP : Ectoplasme

even on live, this would be 100% chance to explode, as already SC'd or missing gems in item had count as 94% stones. the uthgard OC bevaviour does NOT match with the SC system on live. widely explained including sources in german section: http://uthgard.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=9180&start=37 long story short: on live the explode chance was only a thing if gem quality, combining success depends partially on item quality. best simple example: as long as you had 4x 95% gems (or better ofc), you could easy OC every item by 1 imbupoint. no difference between 94% item and MP. very useful for low level gear where quality doesent matter. on uthard there is no chance to OC a <99% item in a safe way. on live combining 4x99% on Mp item mostly done on 1st attempt. |

hm, thx for the replies at mentioned above I put always 3 gems first on live and after that the fourth one but I started late with spellcraft there so maybe things have been easier. I remember that Quality of gems was later not important anymore and if you explode only gems were lost.
If I remember right Esme told me once if you have 3x 99% and one 100% Stone you can ´t explode when overcharging, if you combine System says 0% chance to lose item. Could be wrong too of course, daoc formulas have mostly been quite lost as this game was released and it has formulas that really make no sense. ![]() Thanks for your replies, I ´ll take more caution from now on when spellcrafting. ![]() regards Jerrian (Megrim) |
