Could not connect to the authentication server

Here's the situation. DAoCPortal opens and brings up the server list. I put in my password and click play then about 30 seconds later it gives this error, Could not connect to the authentication server.
I know it's not my computer because I brought my laptop to a friends house and it works. I know it's not my router as I can connect directly and it does the same thing. I can run a tracert to uthgard.net with no problems. I'm pretty sure it's my ISP but here is the rub, I don't have cable/DSL. Our condo complex leases lines that we all share with a direct hard wired connection to each unit with a switch for each building. I'm about 99% sure they will not open any ports for me, but here are my questions. 1. What are the ports I need to ask them to open? (I'm sure they won't, but just in case) I found a couple different lists of ports, but I think the fewer ports I ask them to open the better chance I might have. 2. Is there any way around it if they won't open the ports? Any other advice is welcome too. |

Auth error usually means you couldnt make a connection with Uthgard.
It's most likely a routing issue or firewall. When the error occurs, try doing a traceroute to the gameserver. Start Menu > Run.. > cmd > tracert 88.198.56.21 If the hops never make it to uthgard.game-server.cc , the answer is your connection. ^^ |

As I mentioned in my original post, the tracert is fine. My question isn't really what's causing the problem, more if there is anything I can do about it.

uthgard.net is an entirely separate webserver

Yes, the tracert to that IP completes fine as well.
