is it true there is no benefit when leveling ice to go past the 25 pet? Meaning, I was planning on going full ice (like it seems is most advised) upto 40, but i'm hearing that it is best to go upto 25 in ice then start in earth till 40 then respec to 40 earth and then start putting into air for a final spec of 40/36...is that the right way to do it? Thanks.

From what I can remember there are no more pets after 25 ice which is prolly why most say don't level it past it. For my thuerg, until I was 40 I kept ice at 25 and rest in earth then I respeced at 40 to 40 earth and rest air like you said. Some go higher earth for last pet and higher pbt but thats your choice

If you plan to xp only with pet, all you have to do is
1. Skill 7 in ice asap, since the first summoning spell cost 15% mana instead of 12%
2. Ensure that your pet summoning spell don't have a hard cap lower than 88% of your level. It means that you need :
* 13 ice at level 18 (spell lvl 7 has a hard cap of 15 and 18x.88=15.84)
* 18 ice at level 29 (spell lvl 13 has a hard cap of 25 and 29x.88=25.52)
* 25 ice at level 43
The other points can be put in earth for a better group friendly spec (BT 10 at level 32) or in air to gain a low cost DD with spirit damage (like damage of your pet). Pets of this secondary spec would also be very effective.

Not sure about Uthgard but you can never go wrong with 40 Ice 36 Earth. At lower RR, there will be no variance on your Baseline Ice DD's (which is all you have unless your an Air Theurg) not to mention the level 40 Ice pet is a bit beefier.

On the other hand, 40 Earth 36 Ice will do the exact same thing, except you will have faster/beefier earth pets not to mention a pretty sweet melee speed debuff

Ice pets on tanks ect for pro peels, and earth pets on the casters for perma rupts

Don't go 40 ice, 36 earth - earth pets are too slow then and ice pets are kinda buggy here on the server + are not that strong anyway.

Some time ago, common spec was 40 earth 36 air, but nowadays I hear more often to go full earth (I dont know whether to go 50 or 48, rest would be ice I guess to minimize variance in base line nuke).

Do the level 40 earth pets also have good speed? I think it is punishing to miss mezz ability, especially if there is no sorc around.

sry for offtopic :X

Afaik Lvl 40 earth pets cant be outsprinted. I dont know what the lvl 48 earth pets do better - heard even faster and some more hp.

No sorc - no rvr :-) Except small men grps.

You are fully occupied by kiting tanks that chase you and pet enemy sups - you hardly manage to nuke (at least at beginning of fight) - so I dont think you got much time to mezz. Anyway, its a ghetto mezz :-) It is ok for thidranki or for small man rvr, but not viable in 8v8.
