keep in mind, that many players have only one char per account, and multiple email accounts they only created for uthgard chars which wont be checked frequently.

keep in mind, that this change was made because of people like you -> viewtopic.php?f=28&t=28960

on live you cant do that. one server one realm one house. this is not possible (neither a masteraccount nor 1 house per account) here on uthgard. so dont complain

i second that ...30d prior mail and 7d prior mail sounds fine...there's people having longer vacation and stuff and it would be a shame to lose your house to this just because u didnt check the lockbox right before going on vacation

So many invalid arguments here.

Question #1) What if someone afk for RL business and cannot come back for a long period of time?
Answer #1) Either they have someone pay rent for them (easily set up with a permission) or sell your house. If you have something that is so urgent that you cannot set up someone to pay or you cannot log in for a mere 1-2 minutes to pay rent every 3 months then I highly doubt you are really that worried about your imaginary house in a video game...

Questions #2) But I have alot of items and don't want to lose them just because I forget rent.
Answer #2) You don't lose them...never have. Consignment merchant and vault bankers in the front of housing have your junk.

Question #3) Why should I lose all the money that is on my consignment merchant?
Answer #3) If you are trying to sell an item and you don't check back every 3 months to look at your merchant that is no ones fault but your own...if you need extended AFK then remove money and items from your merchant so that you do not run the risk of selling one and then losing your platins.

Question #4) What about the people that are already on extended AFK under the previous agreement that rent would be paid out through Consignment Merchant?
Answer #4) It is impossible to implement changes without it causing problems for someone. This is something that I am sure the dev team thought about and saw as a acceptable loss. Their are always risks when taking a long AFK from game...one cannot simply expect everything to remain the same just because they weren't in game to see the change...losses are a small part of this.

I'm in full support for this change over here.

Every summer i go for holidays about 10 days in a place where i can't lauch DAoC. If i forgot to pay rent, i can have the mail warning in the first days and can't log to pay the rent.
The 1 week warning is useless for me. I have only one account, one house, and i have already the warning ingame. I really need a warning 3 or 4 weeks before repossession to be sure to not forget to pay rent at a "critical" time. That would be the only usefull mail for me.

I was used to pay the rent at the begining of the year and forget about it until next year but now I never remember the last time I checked if there is enough money and Im always worried about that. . .REALLY annoying

this last year had been bad for players, most changes (they say fixes or livelike things) had been annoying for us (I will not list here what are annoying changes for me)

Thx for this change... since 6 weeks i roam through the whole mid hz to find a lot,- and if you finally found a lot, someone buy it for 10+P ... an amount which is out of reality for newcommers.

you miss my point. You can't have a everything made so it fits YOU because then everyone wants that and thus we will get an email everyday. Say I have a job where I go away for 5 weeks at a time so I want an email 2 months before as well otherwise I might lose my house.. etc etc etc
It is not that hard to remember to pay rent if it matters to you...

Of course. I talk about me to explain what i meant. What i mean is that a notification 1 week before repossession seems a little short for common situation.
I think that
1. No play while on trip is quite common
2. Most of this holidays with no-play have a duration that doesn't exceed 2 or 3 weeks.

And by the way, it's not only my own wish. The next post was 11 minutes after, and it was a +1 to my request.
