Thanks for providing your results Mr. Poplik.
Anyway this topic is not about what is mor efficient(we all should know Spread is in most cases the better choice), it was about personal opinions, and when they prefer group heal over spread. But i think there are a lot of people very interesting in your Research and statements!

Against "bad" ennemies, it doesnt really matter what you heal you won't be oom before they die. Against decent group, I don't spread to heal someone under assist because i'm not willing to take the risk of : - the target died before i finished my cast. - I got rupted by the 80994583920 ways i could against a decent group before i could finish my cast. - the target went out of range by the time i finished my cast (yeah pretty low probability i'll give you that) If there is 2 people taking heavy damage at the same time, yeah spread would be the best way i guess because in that case you have to gamble otherwise you can't sustain that kind of heal with the group spec, but in that case 2 targets(or more) taking heavy damage at the same time is not something that should happen in a 8v8 so there is something wrong with the group as a whole. One of my high priority is to get the heal, the value of the heal is secondary, beside the fact that if a DPS sees his target getting support he might switch/back of/not comit in some way (granted that thing can be non-existent for some people but it's just something i'm telling myself hoping its true), a burst dps can't last forever otherwise your group is afk. a few things to notice : - spread ignore disease on the target, that's kind of a usefull thing to keep in mind yeah. - atm on alb without rk group spec is 278 for almost the same amount of mana without the insane cast time, it's plenty enough to top someone off if hes not getting damaged, granted if a guy takes more damage by the time the cast would finish it's a win for spread. - in a 8vX setting or any keep/relic defense the situation is completely different, you don't know who's gonna take what, who's gonna get diseased of whatever, therefore the need of "gambling" with the spread is almost a necessity.
Of course theorically, it's the best heal, In practice for me in most of my situations I don't like it. ------ Bottom line, spread heal is a risk you take, in most of the case at the end yeah it works, but personnally im not willing to take that risk with the other heals I have considering my spec/class. |

There is also the dual healer thing, the faster you react/act, the faster the other healer will be able to act accordingly, therefore saving mana/heals/time as a group.
Long cast gives you more time to react/cancel accordingly if needed, but also let others wondering longer if some help is coming or not (confidence?). But anything faster means more mana so there is a middle ground to find. |

But if someone call incoming damage you can just start to spread before he get´s dmg !

when i play healer i have spread heal on every qbar slot, so i can't miss it with my stubby fingers...

And if the second Sup start casting his Spread when your cast is at 50%, you have the max coverage and will live forever! ![]() |
