here is my problem
when i type my account name and password in DAoC portal it just says error "programe connect.exe stopped working" Ok i found it : install DAOC PORTAL in your DARK AGE OF CAMELOT GAME FOLDER |

You do not need to install portal in your game folder. In daocportal, you must specify a valid path to your game folder. To do this, click the browse button and find your game folder, do not type it in manually.

I know this is new to you guys but in general, why the feg do so many people have such problems with this?
It has been covered many many times in the past and the patch process has been made almost fool proof, but it still causes problems. I have a friend in game who has to keep logging out and patching whenever he zones to any OF map... Here is what i would do: 1. Create a folder on the root of C: called DAOC. EG: C:\DAOC 2. Now you need to make sure you have permission to make changes to the contents of that folder. The way to this depends on your OS. WinXP a) Open Windows Explorer b) Click on [Tools] menu, then [Folder options...] c) On the folder options screen, click the [View] tab. d) scroll to the bottom of the Advanced settings: list. e) disable (remove the tick) from Use Simple File Sharing f) Click [OK]. g) Right Click on the C:\DAOC folder and select [Properties] h) Click on the Security tab i) Click Add g) In the box that appears type EVERYONE and press [OK] h) this will take you back to the security page; with 'EVERYONE' highlighted, click the 'Full Control' checkbox in the 'Allow' column of the 'Permission for Everyone' section. i) Click [OK] and [OK] again. Win7 a) Right click on C:\DAOC folder and select [Properties] b) Click on the "Security" tab c) Click [Edit...] d) Click [Add...] e) in the box type EVERYONE and press [OK] f) this will take you back to the security page; with 'EVERYONE' highlighted, click the 'Full Control' checkbox in the 'Allow' column of the 'Permission for Everyone' section. g) Click [OK] and [OK] again. 3) download Portal and install to "C:\DAOC\DAoC Portal\" 4) download DAOC Client and install to "C:\DAOC\DAoC Uthgard\" 5) once all downloading complete, run "DAoC Portal". Configuring Portal a) In Portal, click File > Settings b) On the client tab, click [Browse] c) browse to the folder that contains the camelot.exe file. If you followed my instructions above, it should be "C:\DAOC\DAOC Uthgard\" d) Click [OK] to select the folder and return to the portal settings page. e) Click [Patch!]. f) Once the patcher has finished, close the Camelot Patcher. Now all you need to do is create an account on uthgard through the portal and login. Uthgard pushes out the downgrade patch to your client to ensure that you are on the right version; it will also install the Tajendi mod to allow you access to the custom content that is available from lvl 35+ (although you'll want to wait util lvl42+ for this!) EDIT** Forgot to add, if you want to use a custom UI, try BobsUI from Here Choose the 215MB v1.110 'exe' version and install by selecting your game UI folder. EG: "C:\DAOC\DAoC Uthgard\UI\" Once you have logged into the client, go into the Options screen and choose Custom as your User Interface. You will then need to restart Camelot in order for it to load the new UI. |
