Hi Guys,

well im well aware that we are talking about DAoC and it had always its perfromance problems, at least for me and my friends, but now im really curious.

I run daoc on a i5 with a GTX 680 and 16 gig DDR3 on maximum details in window mode, and everytime i make lik a full turn arround with my char my whole daoc freezes for like a split second..

I already hit the task manager and set the priority of the game.exe to realtime and it made it better slightly but still i experience those performance issues.

Windows 7 btw.

Anybody has a clue what could cause this probs?

Cheers for any help,

Ceo

if its micro-stuttering it could be caused by outdated graphics drivers.

Also do you use a custom UI?
How about changing the skins to classic and see if the problem persists?

I'm not doubting the power of your system, but the first thing you should be doing to determine the root cause of an unknown fault, is to narrow the potential possibilities by elimination.

Borog,

graphic drivers are up to date, no custom UI, didnt try that yet with the skins. Will try in the evening and report, but that would be not a solution anyway.

Even i love the old models, the armors and everything looks like crap :)

try playing fullscreen or disabling extra displays? it sounds like the cursor is escaping the window

It says in the client that if you try to play in windowed mode that it might cause problems. Perhaps that's where you should start. Go full screen...

What the others allready said.
Try playin in Fullscreen + disable extra screens if you have some.

What also could help is setting the game.dll to only one core, but i guess that got fixed in some patch.

Btw. don't set a process on realtime.
Blue knows how to perform headshots in daoc!
Blue: "Headshot, instant win."

Viva punk a lifetime!

I solved my problem.

Wanted to let u know how. I tried everything from switching to one processor, setting priority to high, doing fullscreen mode, nothing helped.

So i installed Daoc on my gaming 2TB HD where i have all other games as well without any problems and i thought maybe i should try to intall daoc on my Samsung SSD.

See there, smooth as a ****** baby. No more lags no more probs. Even i dont have any problems with other games on that 2TB HDD, daoc managed to create some :-)

So if anyone has the same prob and has a ssd drive available, put it there, will work :)

Cheers anyways everybobdy,

Ceo

If you have an ASUS mainboard, try stopping/uninstalling their tweaking utility. It's known to cause problems like this.
