Do you really pretend that there no feature removal between barrel and this one ? xp off removal ? Remove of dragonfly ? And once again, it's not about "comfort", it's about using time to remove things, while there's still some (or at least one) major missing mechanics and lot of other missing or non working features. On top of that, the title of this thread mention a "clear, consistent message of 1.69 patch goal". But that's not true. YOU don't want 1.69. You seems to want 1.69+custom things. And what is need to be clarified is what is the real target. This custom stuff seems to go in a direction where an all melee craftable bonus can have its place. So what's the goal ? Why 1.69 ? What means 1.69 ? This is the version just before NF & ToA. So it seems that you are trying to emulate DAoC without this two things. And this can be done whit things that improved DAoC without removing the quality of DaoC and the diversity among class/realm. It is not needed to have ugly graphics, 1 macro bar, no custom UI, no map, little freeze while changing zone, no rog, no trainer armor, no tradeskills, etc to get back to the old feelings of DAoC. I think the patch-based vision of what the server should be has gone out of the window a long time ago. It's really not worth arguing about this again, even tho I did on countless occasions. What I don't like are people that want to take me for a fool and use inconsistent reasoning to justify changes. And that is what you will always get in any debate over the server goal. I feel tempted to write a larger piece on the somewhat screwed up logic that is being communicated to the players, but that probably will have to wait until later... Anyway, dear OP, save yourself the frustration and just suck it up ^^

Stop using this idiotic argument. The adjustments/removal take only some minutes of our time. Or do you think its hard to remove dragon fly tickets? Its not even a developer needed for that. The majority of time flows into bugfixing and testing stuff on live servers. THAT takes most of the time. If we had more ToA stuff in the server and have to remove it we would see such threads every week. We made a lot mistakes in the past and will correct them as good as possible and fitting it to the server vision of being oldschool. Uthgard is in development and such things just happen. And don't come up with stuff like RR10 caps. These are in no way comparable to what we fixed in regards to our 1.69 goal. The RvR system as it uses NF RA's will remain with RR10+ caps and 1.80 limit. As a rule of thumb, if it makes the game easier and more shallow its probable a candidate for a down fix. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Thx for that info blue, I hope you dont make the mistake to degrade already existing items. Anyway, Uthgard is a nice server and staff is doing a good Job at all, but this constantly backpatching that causes harm for the Players and ****** them off is still a big issue and you should seriously think about, if this is the right way. You will never have a classic patch Level that you Count on with all the custom changes we have now, cause sum of them are not removable. Last uncomfortable changes june 2012... hmm I think the Barrel nerf and wyvern retake were later, just to call 2 examples. Anyway, I´m tired of discussing about everything that won ´t change anything and it seems players opinion is not asked for, that ´s a pitty. regards Megrim |

All "fixes" and changes to prepare for 1.69 is useless without old RA´s. Imo its stupid to have 1.80 for stuff concerning NF and 1.69 on rest. Keep whole server at 1.80 untill old RA´s are ready. The double standards i see from the GM´s makes me sick. But they have right about one thing; Free server is not like live. At live GM´s/developers atleast listen to the player base and didnt behave like they where gods.

All items will degrade livelike. What else? Btw the only reason why degrade does not work is a mistake in 2003 in the repair code which was not fixed over the years. Instead of % it subtracts points from a durability pool. Nowadays I wish it would have been correct right from the start but the research for it took a lot of time.

Thats bcs of the EA take over and trying to do daoc into WoW. Normaly a game try to evolve with new fixes to bad stuff like daoc did in the old day with patches. Going down in the patches is for me a degradation as you take away lots of stuff that was a result of player/developer interaction. Uthgard when i started here was a wonderful place with a right mix of "right" patch level and custom stuff. All was happy and there was a lot of RvR going on. Now its just a big failure bcs of a fixed idea about a stupid patch level no one wants. Just look at the RvR activity, most "good" players and active guilds are gone now and there want be anyone to replace them. THIS is what i call degradation. |

some things where added to the game for a good reason, and that reason should be looked at before removing them. These two stones where added to help the crafters be more important and to allow them to make better cheaper templates. Removing them will wreck the markets and drive prices higher on dropped items which isnt good because now casual players wont be able to make decent templates cheaply.
why do you want to cause dropped items to be so expensive that only a select few can afford them ? even Mythic understood the importance of making the game easier for the casual players to be able to compete. while removing these stones may be correct for patch 1.69 its a bad thing for the casual players and for the crafters. Mythic made constant changes to the game to help the crafters and all of them where a good thing. |

Sure. All was better in the past. RvR activity was higher in last years. /sarcasm off I dont know why all these players complained about low RvR activity then in the last years. What you describe is what happens on Uthgard all the time. Old players are replaced by newer ones. This has nothing to do with some arbitrary craft fix. It's done when it's done.
